The American Theatre Wing raised more than $550,000 at their annual Gala last night. All of the proceeds will go towards The Wing's education and outreach programs. The event was held at New York's legendary Plaza Hotel in honor of Sir Howard Stringer (Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Sony Corporation and longtime American Theatre Wing Board Member), and included a special tribute to Douglas B. Leeds (Former President and dear friend of The Wing).

As announced on the Friday, February 4 edition of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show,' this spring, Christie Brinkley, one of the world's most successful supermodels, is set to make her highly anticipated Broadway stage debut as merry murderess Roxie Hart in the Tony Award-winning hit musical CHICAGO for an eleven-week limited engagement, Monday, April 4 through Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.). The production played 3 nights - July 31, August 1 and August 2 to cheering crowds, but the crazy part is - the final dress is done at 10am, in broad daylight and is open to the public, as the venue is a county-owned facility. People showed up in droves, for the run-through and cheered on the actors, the Hollywood Bowl orchestra and conductor Kevin Stites, who you will see is wearing a black, casual shirt for the rehearsal. The show's director, Richard Jay-Alexander, made a brief speech before the run, welcoming everybody, and in this exclusive footage, I was also able to catch him, in his dressing room, before the Opening Night performance.
