The Public Theater presents The Fortress of Solitude, a world premiere musical with a book by Itamar Moses, and music and lyrics by Michael Friedman. Conceived and directed by Daniel Aukin, The Fortress of Solitude runs through Sunday, November 2, with an official press opening tomorrow, Wednesday, October 22. Dallas Theater Center is currently running the world premiere new musical The Fortress of Solitude, a co-production with The Public Theater in New York City. It began previews on March 7 and will continue to run through April 6. The Fortress of Solitude is based on the nationally best-selling novel of the same name by 2005 MacArthur Fellow Jonathan Lethem. The musical is conceived and directed by Daniel Aukin, with a book by Itamar Moses, and music and lyrics by Michael Friedman.

Roundabout Theatre Company's fall production of Bad Jews began previews on September 19 at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street), and opened on October 3. Earlier this week, the casts and creative teams of Roundabout Theatre Company's fall shows (The Winslow Boy, Bad Jews, and Too Much, Too Much) gathered to kick off the upcoming season. BroadwayWorld was there for the festivities and you can check out interviews with the casts below!

The world premiere of the powerful, intense new play 'The Royale' by Marco Ramirez opened on May 5 at the CTG/Kirk Douglas Theatre. Directed by Daniel Aukin, 'The Royale' delivers a knock-out punch with its vivid depiction of a man fighting for his place in history. 'The Royale' continues through June 2, 2013. Kicking off the sixth season of Roundabout Underground, Bad Jews is a world premiere comedy by Joshua Harmon about the holy and the holier-than-thou. Daphna Feygenbaum is a Real Jew-just ask the Israeli boyfriend she met on Birthright. So when her cousin Liam brings home his shiksa girlfriend Melody and declares ownership of their grandfather's Chai necklace, it sparks a viciously hilarious brawl over family, faith and legacy.

Lisa D'Amour and Melissa James Gibson are this year's recipients of the 2011 Steinberg Playwright Awards, presented by The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust at Lincoln Center last night, November 14.
