The curtain was raised last night for the opening night of one of the most anticipated musicals in recent Broadway history: MJ. The cast, including 12 Broadway debuts, took their first opening night bows at the Neil Simon Theatre. Newcomer Myles Frost, of Washington, D.C., made his Broadway debut as Michael Jackson and received multiple standing ovations. Journey to the past with some newly released footage from this summer's premiere Hartford Stage run of the new Broadway musical, Anastasia. 

The upcoming Broadway reimagining of SIDE SHOW revealed the production's key artwork last month, featuring leading ladies Erin Davie and Emily Padgett. Directed by Academy Award-winner Bill Condon (Chicago, Dreamgirls, Twilight Breaking Dawn Parts 1 & 2), who will be making his theatrical directorial debut with the production, Side Show opens on Broadway this fall. Signature Theatre Company's production of Tony Kushner's ANGELS IN AMERICA: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes, began performances Tuesday, September 14.
