The second show of The Public's free Shakespeare in the Park season, LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, A NEW MUSICAL, directed by Alex Timbers, with songs by Michael Friedman and book adaptation by Alex Timbers, will begin previews on Tuesday, July 23 and run through Sunday, August 18, with an official press opening on Monday, August 12. Below, hear a song from the new musical, 'Hey Boys,' as performed by cast members Patti Murin, Audrey Weston, and Kimiko Glenn!

Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis, Brian D'Arcy James, Richard Thomas, Bryce Pinkham, Jay O. Sanders, Ari Graynor, Katherine Waterston, Emily Young, Oliver Platt, Justin Levine and Heath Calvert and Lapham's Quarterly Editor Lewis Lapham celebrated the release of Lapham's Quarterly's new POLITICS issue on Monday, October 15 at Joe's Pub at The Public. Yesterday, July 14, Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore hosted the 14th annual BROADWAY BARKS!, a star-studded dog and cat adoption event benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. The supernatural power of love arrived on Broadway last night, April 24th, at the Opening Night of GHOST The Musical. Featuring an original score by rock legends Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard, and a book by the original Oscar-winning screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin, GHOST was directed by Tony and Olivier Award winner Matthew Warchus and starred Richard Fleeshman Sam Wheat, Caissie Levy Molly Jensen, Da'Vine Joy Randolph Oda Mae Brown and Bryce Pinkham Carl Bruner. GHOST: THE MUSICAL began previews on Thursday, March 15th at The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Set in modern day New York City, Ghost The Musical is a timeless fantasy about the power of love. Walking back to their apartment one night, Sam and Molly are mugged, leaving Sam murdered on a dark street. Sam is trapped as a ghost between this world and the next and unable to leave Molly, who he learns is in grave danger. With the help of a phony storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, Sam tries to communicate with Molly in the hope of saving and protecting her. Ghost The Musical opens April 23rd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Richard Fleeshman and Caissie Levy are reprising their starring roles as Sam and Molly, which they originated in London's hit West End production. They are joined by newcomer Da'Vine Joy Randolph as Oda Mae Brown and Bryce Pinkham as Carl Bruner. Ghost the Musical, beginning previews March 15th with the opening date set for April 23rd, is directed by Tony Award winner Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage, The Norman Conquests, Boeing-Boeing) and choreographed by Ashley Wallen (The X Factor, Kylie Minogue). Ghost The Musical is created by a team of Grammy and Academy Award winners, with a brand-new original score by Dave Stewart (half of the multi-Grammy Award winning Eurythmics) and Glen Ballard (Michael Jackson's Man In The Mirror, Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill), with a book by Bruce Joel Rubin (Ghost, Jacob's Ladder, The Time Traveler's Wife), who has adapted his Academy Award winning original screenplay for the stage. This brand new score also includes the iconic song 'Unchained Melody,' famously performed in the film by The Righteous Brothers.
