The 2011 Season of The Philadelphia Orchestra at SPAC will feature many firsts including award winning actor and Saratoga Springs native David Hyde Pierce joining us to narrate the orchestra's performance of Britten's classic, A Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra, an evening with Grammy winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis, and a full screening of classic film Casablanca with a live orchestral performance of the film's score.

Tony Award winner David Hyde Pierce will appear with the Philadelphia Orchestra to narrate Benjamin Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra at Saratoga Performing Arts Center, in Saratoga Springs, NY, on July 29 at 8pm. In addition, the roster of events will include an evening with Grammy winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis, and a full screening of classic film Casablanca with a live orchestral performance of the film's score.

What would happen if an Arab folk musician, a chart-topping rock guitarist and a Grammy-nominated classical violinist decided to play each other's music? And co-write a new piece? And even cover a Justin Bieber song? Who knows...and that's exactly the point of GALA/NYC, a one-of-a-kind performance series at the Brooklyn Lyceum that will preview for four concerts in May with a full season of twice-monthly shows to begin in September. The first shows will take place on Saturday evenings at 8 pm on May 7, 14, 21 and 28.

Academy Award-winning composer Dario Marianelli (Atonement) has created a romantic and moving score, performed by violinist Jack Liebeck, as the perfect complement to the new movie version of the celebrated story. Jane Eyre opens in New York and Los Angeles on March 11, and expands to additional cities throughout March.
