In honor of California's iconic and beloved redwood, sequoia and Joshua trees, Hammer Theatre Center will invite audiences to Treelogy, a musical tribute created in response to the wildfires that ravaged the state's ancient forests in 2020, which continue to impact the lives of Californians.

Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts has already welcomed some jazz greats to its stage this season, and there's still more to come this spring, including a celebration of Preservation Hall's 60th anniversary on Tuesday, March 7.

Jazz at Princeton University, helmed by acclaimed saxophonist/composer Rudresh Mahanthappa, and the McCarter Theatre kick off a new partnership on Saturday, February 11 with “For the Love of It,” a concert celebrating life, love, and culture through diverse musical styles and composers.

The South Bend Symphony Orchestra will  welcome a sizzling tango troupe at Tango Caliente! on February 11 at the Morris Performing Arts Center.

Singer and Songwriter Robin Batteau brings his unique new project, Banned in Sparta, to the Passim stage on January 29th. Inspired by ancient Greek Lyric Poets like Sappho, Simonides, and Corinna from the 5th and 6th and 7th centuries BCE, Banned in Sparta, combines the incredible songwriting talents of Batteau with the iconic voices from New England's folk scene like Tom Rush, Carolyn Hester, Tom Paxton, Livingston Taylor, Kate Taylor, and Eric Andersen. Batteau elevates the myths and ancient struggles of the Greek tragedies into modern folk classics. Robin's sister Yani, who plays clawhammer style banjo, will open the show and join him onstage for a few songs. Tickets are on sale now at Passim.org. 

​​​​​​​McCarter invites audiences to start the New Year laughing with the outrageously funny and wickedly subversive tale of familial love, loss and connection: Between Two Knees, by acclaimed intertribal sketch comedy troupe The 1941's and directed by Eric Ting.

Bobby McFerrin, Nirvana, Ma Rainey, Nile Rodgers, Slick Rick 'The Ruler,' The Supremes, and Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson of Heart are the 2023 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipients; Henry Diltz, Ellis Marsalis and Jim Stewart are the Trustees Award recipients.

Conductor and composer Daniela Candillari makes her debut with the New York Philharmonic in their inaugural season inside the new David Geffen Hall on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 7:30pm. The concert, An Evening with Yo-Yo Ma, features the world-renowned cellist in Elgar's spellbinding Cello Concerto, in addition to Dvořák's Symphony No. 8 and Missy Mazzoli's River Rouge Transfiguration.

The Board of Directors of National Sawdust, the Brooklyn-based organization that nurtures and presents groundbreaking artists across musical genres and art forms, today announces Ana De Archuleta, who has served as Director of Artistic Operations since September 2021, as the organization's new Managing Director. She will work in close partnership with co-founder, composer and artistic director Paola Prestini, making National Sawdust the rare New York cultural institution to be led by women.

McCarter Board Chair, W. Rochelle Calhoun has announced that the McCarter Board's  Executive Committee has voted to hire veteran arts leader Susie Medak to fill the role of Interim Managing  Director effective immediately. Arts Consulting Group (ACG) conducted the search to place Ms. Medak in  this leadership role for McCarter.
