KING OF THE YEES Set for UNC's Process Series, 11/6-7

The Process Series at UNC will feature an engaging new work by an acclaimed playwright in November. Commissioned by the Goodman Theater in Chicago, Lauren Yee's King of the Yees will be performed November 6 and 7, 2014, at 8:00pm in Studio 6 of Swain Hall at UNC-Chapel Hill. The performance is free and open to the public with a $5 suggested donation.

SpeakEasy Stage Presents BAD JEWS, Now thru 11/29

From today, October 24 through November 29, 2014, SpeakEasy Stage Company will present the New England premiere of BAD JEWS, a seriously smart comedy about family, faith, and legacy, written by Joshua Harmon.

Tom Dugan's WIESENTHAL Begins Performances Tonight at Theatre Row

Tony Award winner Daryl Roth (Kinky Boots, The Normal Heart) and Karyl Lynn Burns (The Best is Yet to Come) present the New York premiere of Wiesenthal, the award-winning play written by and starring Tom Dugan and directed by Jenny Sullivan. Wiesenthal launches a limited 14-week engagement, from tonight, October 24 through February 1, at the Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row, (410 W. 42nd Street). Opening night is November 5.

Lowell Byers to Lead PERICLES, PRINCE OF TYRE at The Old Globe; Cast & Creatives Announced!

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program presentation of William Shakespeare's Pericles, Prince of Tyre, directed by Ray Chambers and running November 15 - November 23 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Opening night is Saturday, November 15 at 8:00 p.m.

NAMT's 2014 Festival of New Musicals Continues This Weekend

The National Alliance For Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced today its selections for the 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals. Beautiful Poison, Cubamor, Great Wall, How To Break, Mary Marie, The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes, String and Stu For Silverton make up the eight new musicals that will be presented at the 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals today, October 23, 2014 and Friday, October 24, 2014 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

Tonya Pinkins, Trezana Beverley & More to Star in Yale Rep's WAR; Cast Announced!

YALE REPERTORY THEATRE presents the world premiere of WAR by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, November 21–December 13 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). The company opening is scheduled for Friday, November 28. The official press opening will follow on Saturday, November 29.

Bad Jews is a new comedy about Daphna who reunites with her cousins on the day of their grandfather's funeral in the Upper West Side of New York City. When her cousin brings home his non-Jewish girlfriend, a hilarious brawl ensues over a family heirloom. Bad Jews is a thoughtful comedy that tackles love, death, betrayal, the definition of family, and the evolution of contemporary American Judaism. It's about what you choose to believe, when you're chosen.

FREEZE FRAME: THE ELEPHANT MAN's Bradley Cooper, Patricia Clarkson, Alessandro Nivola & More Meet the Press!

Two-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper, Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Patricia Clarkson, and Alessandro Nivola will soon return to Broadway in Bernard Pomerance's Tony Award-winning classic The Elephant Man, directed by six-time Tony Award nominee Scott Ellis. LA Theatre Works to Bring IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT to Harris Center, 11/18

L.A. Theatre Works brings their riveting stage adaptation of this classic American film dealing with racial prejudice to Harris Center for the Arts in Folsom. The play demonstrates the slow evolution of attitudes, but leaves the characters, and America, with a long way to go. This presentation is a special event commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
