Laguna Playhouse Announces Extension of HAIRSPRAY

Laguna Playhouse is thrilled to announce that the first show in the Laguna Playhouse 2017-2018 and 97th season, their smash-hit, critically-acclaimed musical, HAIRSPRAY, book by Thomas Meehan and Mark O'Donnell, music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, musical direction by Michael Ferrara, directed and choreographed by Paula Hammons Sloan is EXTENDING through SATURDAY, AUGUST 5th at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.

THE NANCE at Pride Films and Plays Extends to 8/13

Pride Films and Plays' Jeff -recommended Chicago Premiere of Douglas Carter Beane's Tony Award-nominated play THE NANCE - a hit among critics and audiences alike - will be extended beyond its originally announced closing of July 30, and will now play through Sunday, August 13, 2017.

YES Announces Additional Dates For 2017 Summer Tour

2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee YES has revealed additional tour dates for this summer's YESTIVAL outing with special guest Todd Rundgren and an opening set from Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy honoring the magic of Keith Emerson and Greg Lake, as well as a few special 'Evening With YES' shows.

BWW Review: HAIRSPRAY Full of Talent and Entertainment at The Playhouse

The Playhouse in San Antonio opened its production of HAIRSPRAY to a nearly sold-out crowd on July 7, 2017. There was a lot of buzz about this production, especially about Director Omar Leos. It seemed that everyone had high hopes for this production as Leos prepared the cast. And as it turns out, there was no disappoint in this production of HAIRSPRAY. It is an audience favorite in general and it's obvious to see that The Playhouse delivered a topnotch production.

Music Theatre Wichita continues its 2017 Season, 'Hollywood to Broadway: A Summer Festival of Musical Theatre' by welcoming patrons to the 60s with a new version of Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman's Tony Award-winning musical Hairspray, which runs July 12-16 in the Century II Concert Hall in downtown Wichita, KS. The third of five locally produced Broadway-scale productions, Hairspray is part of the organization's 46th season, which is also the 30th season for producing artistic director Wayne Bryan.

BWW Review: Moliere's THE BUNGLER at STNJ is a Comedic Jewel

'The Bungler' is now onstage at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) through July 30th. This Moliere comedy, translated by Richard Wilbur, enjoys wonderful direction by Brian Crowe and features a cast that capture their roles. It is a perfect summer production, an appealing, laugh-out-loud show for people of all ages.

Nick Offerman to Bring 'Full Bush' Stand-Up Tour to Shea's This Fall

Back by popular demand, humorist, writer and woodworker Nick Offerman will bring his highly successful Full Bush solo stand-up show back on the road.  Offerman will return with a collection of his sawdusty musings on survival in the wild, living with enthusiasm, and most importantly, the cultivation of fulsome body hair. The comedy tour will kick off on September 29th in Billings, MT and end on December 10th in San Francisco, California. The multi-city trek will hit major cities across the US including Nashville, Chicago, and Los Angeles, as well as Shea's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, NY on November 10.

Moliere's THE BUNGLER to Bring Side-Splitting Romp to The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey

Continuing its acclaimed 55th season, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will begin performances of The Bungler on July 5. Translated by Richard Wilbur, Moliere's giddy, side-splitting romp will be directed by STNJ's Brian B. Crowe. The play highlights Moliere at his frothiest and silliest as it follows the hilarious adventures of a clueless young lover and his clever servant attempting to help him win the heart and hand of a beautiful gypsy girl.
