Philadelphia Theatre Presents VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE, Now thru 4/20

Master of Absurd Comedy Christopher Durang blends the characters and themes from Anton Chekhov's dramas in the hilarious Tony Award-winner Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike running today, March 21 - April 20 at Philadelphia Theatre Company's Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets). Directed by James J. Christy, the ensemble features Grace Gonglewski, Deirdre Madigan, Kianne Muschett , Clare O'Malley, Alex Shaw, and Kraig Swartz.

Chicago audiences depart for the country's western edge to experience the reality of the modern-day American dream in the world premiere of Mona Mansour's funny and insightful new play, The Way West, at Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Ensemble member Amy Morton is at the helm following her Tony Award-nominated portrayal of Martha in Steppenwolf's production of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? on Broadway. The cast of six features Ira Amyx, ensemble member Martha Lavey, Caroline Neff, Deirdre O'Connell,Zoe Perry and Gabe Ruiz. The Way West begins previews April 3, 2014 (opening night is April 13; press performances are April 12 at 3pm and April 15 at 7:30pm) and runs through June 8, 2014 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). 'A Little Piece of a Great Big Soul' Meet the Full Cast of Broadway's OF MICE AND MEN, Beginning Tomorrow!

Directed by Tony Award-winner Anna D. Shapiro, the new Broadway production of Of Mice and Men begins performances tomorrow, Wednesday, March 19, 2014 and will officially open on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street). OF MICE AND MEN Announces Broadway Rush Policy!

Directed by Tony Award-winner Anna D. Shapiro, the new Broadway production of Of Mice and Men begins performances tomorrow, Wednesday, March 19, 2014 and announces a student rush policy for the strictly limited engagement that will officially open on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street). A limited number of $35 student tickets (inclusive of a $2 facility fee) will be available for each performance when the box office opens for that day's performance(s) with student identification. Patrons are limited to one ticket per person.

THE REALISTIC JONESES Announces General Rush; Begins Previews Tomorrow

The producers of Will Eno's new play The Realistic Joneses have announced a general rush policy. A limited number of rush tickets, which are subject to availability, can be purchased at the box office of the Lyceum Theatre when the box office opens for the day of the performance on a first-come-first-served basis. The box office of the Lyceum Theatre opens at 10am Monday through Saturday, and at noon on Sunday. Rush tickets are $35 each and limited to two (2) tickets per customer.

Rubicon Theatre Presents A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN, Now thru 4/6

A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN (MOON), by Pulitzer Prize winner and Nobel Laureate Eugene O'Neill, continues Rubicon Theatre Company's 16th Season helmed by Artistic Associate Jenny Sullivan with company member Joseph Fuqua in the role of James Tyrone. (The production marks the 23rd collaboration for Sullivan and Fuqua, who have worked together at Rubicon on productions including Hamlet, You Can't Take It With You and Old Wicked Songs.) Other cast members are Rebekah Tripp, Granville Van Dusen, Scott Roberts and Matthew Grondin.

Ron Palillo's THE LOST BOY Heads to NYC

Producers Lawrence Leritz (Boobs! The Musical) and Dominic Paolillo are proud to announce their partnership, producing the Ron Palillo play 'The Lost Boy' for the New York stage. The team are in pre-production for a summer workshop, with full Broadway production to follow.

Berkeley Rep to Stage Nina Raine's TRIBES, Begin. 4/11

Berkeley Repertory Theatre continues the second half of its season with Tribes, a sophisticated and moving family drama by celebrated British playwright Nina Raine. Her profound and powerful new play became an award-winning hit in London and New York. Now renowned director Jonathan Moscone brings it to Berkeley Rep this April for its Bay Area premiere. Tribes follows Billy, a young man who was born deaf into a loquacious and highly opinionated academic family who raised him to lip-read and integrate into the hearing world. When he meets Sylvia - raised by Deaf parents and going deaf herself - Billy decides it's time to speak on his own terms and to be heard. Playing out in words, sign language, and sometimes mesmerizing silence, this penetrating drama examines familial love, notions of belonging, and the intersections of communication. Tribes start previews Friday, April 11, opens on April 16, and closes on Sunday, May 11, 2014.

Ken Barnett, Susan Bott & More Star in AND BABY MAKES SEVEN at New Ohio Theater, Now thru 4/12

New Ohio Theatre Artistic Director Robert Lyons in association with Purpleman Theater have announced casting for Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel's And Baby Makes Seven. Marc Stuart Weitz will direct ensemble including Ken Barnett (Wonderful Town, Julie Taymor's The Green Bird) as Peter, Susan Bott (Julie Kramer's The Best of Everything) as Ruth and Constance Zaytoun (Moby Pomerance's Broken Hands) as Anna. And Baby Makes Seven is an uproarious and timely comedy that has not been seen professionally in New York in 20 years. Performances will take place today, March 11-April 12 at the New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street, between Washington and Greenwich Streets). Critics are welcome as of March 19 for an opening of March 23.
