Gloucester Stage Company continues the 35th Anniversary Season tonight, July 11 with the Boston Area Premiere of Jack Neary's newest work, Auld Lang Syne featuring GSC favorites and real life husband and wife Richard Snee and Paula Plum directed by Douglas Lockwood. The Daily Mail writes that THE AUDIENCE, starring Helen Mirren, is on its way to Broadway. The production, helmed by Stephen Daldry and written by Peter Morgan, will begin previews in February 2015 for a March opening. Based on Stephen Frears acclaimed film, THE AUDIENCE played a sold-out run at the Gielgud last year.

First Niagara Bank and The Ridgefield Playhouse will present the 9th Annual community event -- Shakespeare on the Green and Green Expo -- on Saturday, August 9. The "how to live green" fair runs from 12 noon to 4 p.m. with Shakespeare's "Two Gentlemen of Verona" taking place under a tent for a seated audience at 2 p.m., all on the green at The Ridgefield Playhouse.
OSF Awarded $25,000 Shakespeare in American Communities Grant

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is one of 40 nonprofit theatre companies chosen to participate in the 2014-15 Shakespeare in American Communities program. OSF will receive a $25,000 grant award from Arts Midwest, on behalf of the National Endowment for the Arts, in support of efforts to expose underserved students and teachers to the works of William Shakespeare.

The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for the third production of the 2014 Summer Season, Ronald Harwood's comedy Quartet, directed by Richard Seer (Other Desert Cities, God of Carnage, The Last Romance). Harwood received an Academy Award for his screenplay of The Pianist and was nominated for The Diving Bell and the Butterfly and The Dresser (also a hit on Broadway and the West End). Quartet will play in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, July 25 - August 24, 2014.
