This year, rather than picking my own pocketful of favorite performances, I'm exited to instead announce a handful of fresh faces I discovered in 2017 that I'm eager to see back onstage in 2018. Having lived in Dallas a mere three years, I frequently catch performers onstage for my first time, even if they've been long-term staples in our community. Who will I find this year? I can't wait!

A family memoir featuring original music by composer and producer Tom s Doncker of True Groove, performances of The Pill will begin Thursday, January 25. This strictly limited engagement will play through Sunday, February 4.

Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) announces the cast and creative team for He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box, the first new work in a decade from Adrienne Kennedy, whom The New York Times called one of the finest living American playwrights. Set in Georgia and New York City in 1941, He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box is a heartbreaking, nail-biting memory tale of segregation, theatrical yearning, and doomed love.

New Jersey Theatre Alliance ( the Alliance ) received a $15,000 grant from Investors Foundation headquartered in Short Hills, NJ, for the second wave of the See Professional Theatre campaign. The grant will help the Alliance promote New Jersey's professional theatres by funding a video series that will introduce people to the variety, accessibility, and high quality of New Jersey's professional theatres.

CMT Next Women of Country members Kalie Shorr, Lindsay Ell and Kelleigh Bannen give new meaning to girl power with a compelling cover video of Taylor Swift's pop hit Look What You Made Me Do. The live performance was filmed at this years CMT Next Women of Country event on November 7.
