Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID (Producer Thomas Schumacher) debuts a new recording of the show's ballad 'Her Voice' performed by Drew Seeley, now starring in the hit Broadway show as Prince Eric. Written for the stage musical by legendary composer and eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater, the song was produced as a pop ballad for Seeley by Brian Malouf (Vice President of A&R, Walt Disney Records).

MTV reports that actress and singer Vanessa Hudgens doesn't want to appear in any more musicals. The 'High School Musical' star wants to stop singing for a spell to focus on sharpening her acting skills. The 'Bandslam' actress - who is currently filming her first non-musical role in 'Beastly' - also insisted to the music channel she has no plans to release any more albums.

Renowned choreographer and director, Jeffrey Hornaday ('Flashdance,' 'A Chorus Line', 'Shout'), will helm 'High School Musical East Meets West,' the fourth movie in the franchise that is a cultural sensation around the world. Vanessa Hudgens has been cast in 'Beastly,' a modern-day take on Beauty and the Beast, according to Entertainment Tonight. Hudgens will, of course, be playing the 'Beauty' in the film. British actor Alex Pettyfer ('Wild Child,' Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker') is reportedly in talks to star as the 'Beast' in the film, which is currently scheduled to begin shooting this summer. The film is directed by Daniel Barnz and produced by Susan Cartsonis in association with CBS Films.

The Disney musical was selected as the favorite movie by audience votes at the 22nd annual slime-filled Nickelodeon spectacle held inside UCLA's Pauley Pavilion. 'High School Musical' star Vanessa Hudgens was also selected as the favorite movie actress.
