The Menier Chocolate Factory today announces a brand new production of Sue Townsend's The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ - The Musical, which opens in Adrian's 50th birthday year. Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary's musical of Leicester's favourite teen has undergone a period of further development since its original production at Curve in 2015, and Luke Sheppard's new production will open at the Menier on 26 July at 3.30pm, with previews from 14 July, and runs until 9 September. Priority booking for the productions opens on Monday 22 May, with public booking on Tuesday 30 May.

ITALIAN DANCE CONNECTION ("IDACO nyc") will return for its 2017 Festival Week, May 30 through June 4, the organization's third annual contemporary dance and art event in NYC.

This June, one of Chicago's longest-running smash-hit shows, Tony n' Tina's Wedding, will celebrate 25 years as one of the windy city's most beloved theatrical institutions.  To honor the occasion, Chicago's favorite soon-to-be-married couple, Tony Nunzio and Tina Vitale, are welcoming back members of the original 1992 Chicago cast to the performance on Friday, June 16 at 8 p.m. Tony n' Tina's Wedding played an incredible 16 years during its original run in Chicago, and during that time entertained more than one million audience members of all ages. The new, retro/flashback version of the show opened in September of 2016 and is now in an open-ended run.

On Monday, May 8 the Theater People podcast welcomes Tony Award winner Gabriel Ebert. Ebert is currently starring alongside Harvey Fierstein in the critically acclaimed gay history play Gently Down the Stream which was written by Martin Sherrman (BENT, THE BOY FROM OZ). Gently Down the Stream plays at the Martinson Theater at The Public Theater through May 21st.

Almost every family and community has some sort of tradition that continues throughout the years, despite any changes the group goes through. This idea is reflected in the show Fiddler on the Roof, as many of the plot points in the show are based on traditions that the people of Anatevka don't remember the origins of. Inspired by the show, I decided to ask the cast and crew of Tyngsborough High School's production of Fiddler on the Roof what their favorite tradition has been throughout their Tyngsborough theatre career.
