George Street Playhouse and Artistic Director David Saint have announced the casting of MARLO THOMAS, award-winning actress of stage and screen, in the world premiere production of Clever Little Lies, by Tony Award-winner JOE DiPIETRO (rescheduled from the 2012-13 season). Mr. Saint will helm the production, slated to take the stage in New Brunswick, November 19 - December 22. The remainder of the cast will be announced at a later date.

Burning Coal Theatre Company will open its 17th season with the U.S. Premiere of The Heretic, a rollicking comedy by Richard Bean. The production will run September 12 - 29, 2013 at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. Sunday, September 15 at 2 pm is our 'Pay What You Can' Day. That performance will also be Audio Described. Tickets are $25, $20 for seniors (65+) and $15 for students and active military. Added performances of this long-forgotten treasure, by French playwright Jacques Deval and adapted by the American author Robert E. Sherwood, are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 29th, 30th and 31st at 8 p.m.; and Saturday August 31st and Sunday, September 1st at 2 p.m.

Shirley Herz, a legendary theatrical press agent, died on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. The cause was complications from a stroke suffered on July 18, said Sam Altman, a longtime friend.

Rubicon Theatre Company will offer a new acting class taught by professional actor Jonathan Drahos. This program, entitled The Acting Intensive, will be the newest addition to Rubicon's extensive offering of summer educational workshops. Now celebrating their 11th year, these programs have focused on developing skills and techniques such as: basic theatre terminology, confidence building, stage presence, proper voice techniques, developing an awareness of body language through character work, and other fundamental techniques through improvisation, scene study and theatre games.
