Geva Theatre Center's Mark Cuddy Named New Producer of Cape Playhouse

Richard B. Hawes, Jr., President of the Board of Trustees of the Cape Playhouse and Cape Cod Center for the Arts, today announced that veteran theatre leader, Mark Cuddy, will assume the newly-created position of Playhouse Producer and Chief Executive of the Cape Cod Center for the Arts. Mr. Cuddy has been the Artistic Director of the largest producing theatre in New York State outside of Manhattan, Rochester's Geva Theatre Center, for the past eighteen years. He will continue in that position as he begins with the Playhouse immediately. Mr. Cuddy has led theatres across the country for over thirty-three years, and serves on the Board of Directors of Theatre Communications Group, the nation's service organization for the advancement of professional, not-for-profit theatres.

Ellen Barkin to Join Robert De Niro in HANDS OF STONE Biopic

According to Variety, Ellen Barkin will star alongside Robert De Niro, Edgar Ramirez and Usher Raymond in the upcoming film biopic on boxing champ Roberto Duran. HANDS OF STONE is written and directed by Jonathan Jakubowicz.

Polly Lee Stars in Abingdon Theatre's FIX ME, JESUS, Beg. Tonight

Abingdon Theatre Company-which has produced 81 new American plays since 1993-launches its 21st Season with FIX ME, JESUS, a world-premiere play by Helen Sneed, with previews set to begin tonight, November 1, prior to an official press opening November 10 in Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex's Dorothy Streslin Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research hosted its signature fundraiser, the Angel Ball, on Tuesday, October 29th at Cipriani Wall Street. The black-tie benefit, hosted by Grammy-nominated song writer Denise Rich featured a cocktail reception, dinner, live musical performances, a paddle raise and both live and online auctions raising nearly $3 million for the Foundation's research initiatives. This year's gala honored three individuals for their outstanding philanthropic contributions to cancer research. Supermodel Karolina Kurkova presented Simon de Pury, Chairman, de Pury de Pury with an award for his dedication to raising much needed funds for cancer research. Hugh Jackman along with his wife Deborra-lee Furness honored Deborra-lee's mother, Fay Duncan, President of the Fight Cancer Foundation in Australia and Ethan Zohn took the stage to talk about how research and the work of Clay B. Anne Hathaway Helped Host Elyse Walker's Pink Party

Elyse Walker hosted her ninth annual Pink Party and fashion show at Santa Monica Airport Friday night with help from Anne Hathaway. “When they told me that Annie would like to help with the event this year, I said, 'Sure, who's Annie?'” said Walker. It seems that Hathaway's good friend was treated at the Women's Cancer Center at Cedars Sinai, for which the event raised $1.7 million. “Elyse is a tireless champion,” said Hathaway. “She's…what's the Yiddish word for a female mensch?” she asked her husband Adam Shulman. “She's a mensch-ette.”
