Academy Award-nominated director Gus Van Sant's Milk, starring Academy Award winner Sean Penn as gay rights icon Harvey Milk, had its world premiere at San Francisco's historic Castro Theatre (at 429 Castro Street) tonight. The evening benefited multiple charities supporting LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) youth. Dinner and dancing followed at City Hall.

Behind the Emerald Curtain, the exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the Broadway smash WICKED, will enter its 4th Season this fall. The tour, which lasts 90 minutes and is run by former and current members of the Broadway company, is given every Saturday morning at 10:00am at the Gershwin Theatre (222 W. 51st Street.). Tickets are $25 and are available for purchase on www.Ticketmaster.com/wicked and at the Gershwin Theatre box office. Groups of 20 or more can buy tickets for $23 each.

Cabrillo Music Theatre of Thousand Oaks, Calif proudly kicks off the new 2008-2009 season by announcing that Deborah Gibson will star in Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic, 'The King and I'. Cabrillo Music Theatre's Artistic Director Lewis Wilkenfeld will direct, while Darryl Archibald will serve as Musical Director and Conductor. The production will feature the original Jerome Robbins choreography of the 'Small House of Uncle Thomas' Ballet, recreated by Irene Cho, who performed the piece under Robbins' supervision in 'The King and I' and 'Jerome Robbins' Broadway'.
