Kitchen Theatre Company to Present FROM WHITE PLAINS, 10/16-11/10

When a young director receives international recognition for a film based on his experience of bullying in high school, he names the real-life bully in his acceptance speech. The two lives that once intersected in high school now run parallel in adulthood. Is forgiveness possible? Or can the consequences of one's actions be so dire that no amount of remorse will open the door to resolution? These are some of the questions asked by FROM WHITE PLAINS, playing at the Kitchen Theatre Company from October 16 to November 10, 2013.

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Co. to Present East Coast Premiere of APPROPRIATE, 11/4-12/1

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company is pleased to announce the East Coast premiere of Appropriate, an audacious comic drama written by native Washingtonian Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and directed by Liesl Tommy (Eclipsed). Les Misérables Opens at Ocean State Theatre on October 2

Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC), has announced the opening of their first full season in their new state-of-the-art theatre in Warwick. The company's 2013-14 season begins with the Rhode Island Regional Theatre Premiere of "the world's most popular musical," Les Miserables, which opens on October 2.

Trinity Rep to Host Two Panel Discussions in Conjunction with THE GRAPES OF WRATH

Trinity Repertory Company invites the public to join in the conversation sparked by their current production of The Grapes of Wrath, at two upcoming panel discussions. The first, The Ghost of Tom Joad: The Relevancy of The Grapes of Wrath, will take place Monday, September 30, 6:30-8:30pm in Trinity Rep's Dowling Theater, and the second The Times They Should Be A-Changin': Are Today's Labor Struggles Stuck on Repeat? will be a post-show talkback after the 7:30PM performance on Sunday October 6. Both events are free and open to the public.

Trinity Repertory Company's Young Actors Studio boasts new and favorite classes for fall. Students can experience all aspects of theater through a range of classes including Musical Theater Dance, Trinity Technicians and Playreading Aloud! Trinity Rep welcomes new teaching artist Jamie Arnold for Musical Theater Dance, and offers Playreading Aloud! for free. Trinity Technicians not only gives a backstage look at Trinity Rep productions, but tuition includes tickets to every show. There is still time to enroll for the coming fall session. Theatre of NOTE presents the world premiere of SHEET CAKE SLIDING, written by Stacia Saint Owens and directed by Nicholas Newell. SHEET CAKE SLIDING, in which a nuclear family goes BOOM!, will preview tonight, September 13 and Saturday, September 14, and will open on Friday, September 20 at 8pm and run through Saturday, October 19 at Theatre of NOTE, 1517 N Cahuenga Blvd (just north of Sunset) in Hollywood.

Burning Coal Theatre's THE HERETIC Opens Tonight

Burning Coal Theatre Company will open its 17th season with the U.S. Premiere of The Heretic, a rollicking comedy by Richard Bean. The production will run September 12 - 29, 2013 at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. Sunday, September 15 at 2 pm is our 'Pay What You Can' Day. That performance will also be Audio Described. Tickets are $25, $20 for seniors (65+) and $15 for students and active military. Trinity Rep to Partner with RI Blood Center for Blood Drive Tomorrow

Trinity Repertory Company has announced that in tandem with the depression era drama, The Grapes of Wrath, they are partnering with the RI Blood Center for a Blood Drive on Friday, September 13th from 2:30pm-5:30pm at Trinity Repertory Company, 201 Washington St in Providence in order to raise awareness and urge donations. All pre-registered donors will get a free ticket to a performance of The Grapes of Wrath, onstage now through October 6 at Trinity Rep. Laura Schellhardt & Meridith Friedman Receive Residencies at Stage Left Theatre

Stage Left Theatre announces the recipients of the Downstage Left Playwright Residencies for Season 32. Residencies are designed to help playwrights take a project from the conceptual stage all the way to a production-ready script. Playwrights work closely with ensemble directors and members of the literary team to design a process tailored to the particular needs of their project.
