National Theatre Live is pleased to announce that the June 13 live broadcast of Peter Morgan's Olivier Award-winning new play The Audience was seen by nearly 30,000 people in North America and nearly 80,000 people in the UK - the largest audience ever for a live broadcast from National Theatre Live. Due to the record-breaking response to the National Theatre Live broadcast of The Audience, many encore screenings have already been added, and more encores will be added throughout the summer internationally. In North America, there are currently 700 screenings scheduled throughout the summer, with additional encores to be added still; in the UK, nearly 800 screenings will take place - the largest number of screenings for a National Theatre Live broadcast in both North America and the UK ever. The Audience played its final performance at London's Gielgud Theatre on June 15, starring internationally acclaimed actress Helen Mirren as The Queen, directed by Stephen Daldry, and won two 2013 Olivier Awards for Best Actress (Helen Mirren) and Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Richard McCabe).

As he continues to perform on stage in the West End, Joey, the equine star of the National Theatre's internationally acclaimed stage production War Horse, has been seen throughout the past week catching up with his colleagues throughout the UK, the US, Germany and Australia.
There is much to love about the innovative production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Tom Morris, that is currently playing at the Dock Street Theatre in Charleston, S.C. as part of the Spoleto Festival. A spare company of twelve actors enacts a large cast of characters with the help of puppets composed of inventive materials ranging from classical masks to simple workmen's tools. A co-production by the U.K.'s Bristol Old Vic and Handspring Puppet Company from South Africa, the production is a visual feast chock full of imaginative surprises.
Co-commissioned by Spoleto Festival USA, Bristol Old Vic's new production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream will have its American premiere performance today, May 25 at 8pm at the Dock Street Theatre in Charleston, South Carolina. The production, which is directed by Tom Morris in association with South Africa's Handspring Puppet Company is the first collaboration between the two companies since their award-winning production of War Horse. Producers Bob Boyett and The National Theatre of Great Britain have announced full casting for the upcoming Providence engagement of the 2011 Tony Award-winning Best Play, WAR HORSE. The company, comprised of more than 30 performers, includes Alex Morf as Albert Narracott, Brian Keane as Arthur Narracott, Michael Wyatt Cox as Billy Narracott, Todd Cerveris as Ted Narracott, Angela Reed as Rose Narracott, Jason Loughlin as Lieutenant James Nicholls, and Mat Hostetler as Private Schnabel.

Internationally recognized for its adventurous programming, Spoleto Festival USA offers a robust lineup of theater for its 37th season. In addition to the American premieres of Bristol Old Vic/Handspring Puppet Company's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream and Steven Berkoff's modern adaptation of Oedipus, the theater program also includes the French circus company, Compagnie XY, with their physical theater production Le Grand C. Two one-man shows bookend the 17-day Festival: Mayday Mayday featuring Tristan Sturrock, last seen in the 2006 Festival presentation of Kneehigh Theatre's Tristan & Yseult, and Rob Drummond's interactive magic show Bullet Catch. Rounding out the theater program is the live-action graphic novel The Intergalactic Nemesis, complete with original illustrations, a Foley artist, and three actors performing a full cast of characters.
