Tigerlily Media and Freestyle Picture Company began test shooting this week for a hopeful new reality show that will go behind the scenes of The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF), America's premier performing arts training program. Each year BDF provides training to thousands of young performers all around the country through a series of intensive programs lead by a faculty of Broadway stars, directors, casting directors and agents.

Get ready for March Madness as Broadway's Morgan James hosts a concert with her rock n' soul band at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 (196 Allen Street) on Monday, March 19 at 9pm. There is a $5 cover charge. Joining her is Broadway's Tituss Burgess (The Little Mermaid/Guys and Dolls/Jersey Boys) and Marva Hicks (Caroline, or Change/The Lion King).

The Public Theater announced today that Tituss Burgess, John Ellison Conlee, Lili Cooper, Matt Doyle, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Greg Hildreth, Eli James, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Justin Levine, Norm Lewis, Betsy Morgan, Jessica Phillips, Bobby Steggert, and Katie Thompson will join the star-studded PUBLIC SINGS! benefit on Monday, March 5 at Joe's Pub. Broadway's ROBERT CREIGHTO, celebrates the February 14 release of his debut CD, "Ain't We got Fun!" (LML Music), with two performances at New York City's Metropolitan Room, February 12 and 13 at 9:30pm. Creighton has appeared in a non-stop string of six Broadway shows, including, currently, as the Purser in Anything Goes. Fellow cast member JOEL GREY appears on "Ain't We Got Fun!" singing "Give My Regards To Broadway". On both nights, a five piece band and special guests will appear with Creighton to celebrate the occasion. The Metropolitan Room is located at: 34 West 22nd Street, NYC. Stage Entertainment, in cooperation with Disney Theatrical Productions, will present the Dutch premiere of The Little Mermaid. After presenting Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, the Netherlands is the first country to scoop the European premiere of the Disney musical. Disney's The Little Mermaid opens on Saturday May 12, premiering at Martini Plaza in Groningen and then playing larger theaters in the Netherlands. Casting will be announced soon.

Today in 2008, The Little Mermaid opened at the Lunt Fontanne Theatre, where it ran for 685 performances. The Little Mermaid is based on the animated 1989 Disney film of the same name and the classic story of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. The musical's book is by Doug Wright, music by Alan Menken and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman (written for the film) and new lyrics by Glenn Slater. The musical had a pre-Broadway tryout in Denver, Colorado in July through early September 2007. The original cast featured Sierra Boggess in the title role of Ariel, Sean Palmer as Prince Eric, Brian D'Addario and Trevor Braun alternate as Flounder, Norm Lewis as King Triton, Sherie Rene Scott as Ursula, Tituss Burgess as Sebastian, Tyler Maynard as Flotsam, Derrick Baskin as Jetsam, Jonathan Freeman as Grimsby, and John Treacy Egan as Chef Louis.
