In 1849, a twenty-eight year-old former slave named Harriet Tubman risked her life to lead a group of other slaves to freedom. Over the course of ten years, she made an additional nineteen trips. She didn't lose any of her three hundred 'passengers' on The Underground Railroad. They called her 'Moses.'

Red Bull Theater today announced that their Twelfth Season will conclude with Red Bull Theater's annual festival of 10-minute plays of heightened language and classic themes features two brand new commissions from Lisa D'Amour and Amy Freed alongside 6 brand new plays chosen from hundreds of submissions from playwrights across the country. The 2016 Short New Play Festival will be Monday July 25th (7:30pm) at Lucille Lortel Theatre. The Huntington Theatre Company's annual Summer Workshop will start rehearsals on July 12 and conclude in public readings of three new plays on July 23 and 24, 2016. The workshop allows selected members of the Huntington Playwriting Fellows program two weeks to focus on developing new plays.
