After a wave of publicity (Manson Family member Squeaky Fromme was paroled on the day the show opened), praise (Michael Musto in the Village Voice called the show 'a tastily eccentric 'psychedelic-atessen'), and sold-out performances, the FringeNYC Encore Series has chosen the show as one of this year's extensions.

Hamletmachine explores late 20th century Western culture, in a richly poetic and layered text. Heiner Müller's masterpiece borrows from Shakespeare, T.S. Eliot and Jean-Luc Godard, among others. (He was 'sampling' before there was such a thing!). Müller was a protégé of Bertold Brecht. Castillo has become one of the foremost producers of his work here in the U.S.
Closing Aurora Theatre Company's 17th season is the Bay Area Premiere of Bob Glaudini's (A View from 151st Street) Off-Broadway hit JACK GOES BOATING. Bay Area theater veteran Joy Carlin (Hysteria, Bosoms and Neglect, The Price) helms this quirky romantic comedy, featuring Amanda Duarte, Gabriel Marin, Beth Wilmurt, and Danny Wolohan. JACK GOES BOATING plays at the Aurora Theatre in Berkeley June 12 through July 19

Barefoot will lead over 50 theatre companies from around the globe including France, Italy, Greece, Czech Republic, Scotland, Australia, England, Scandinavia, the Middle East, Japan, Korea & the United States, performing readings, staged readings & fully staged productions of 70 of Horovitz's plays. THE 70/70 HOROVITZ PROJECT will begin with a gala & a reading of Sins of the Mother (directed by Jo Bonney) at the Theatres at 45 Bleecker Street on Israel's birthday, March 31, 2009 & will continue throughout the following year, ending on March 31, 2010. The evening will be hosted by Barefoot Theatre Company Advisory Board Member, Pierre Dulaine. The entire Barefoot Theatre Company will be present at the event to greet all guests, along with the Horovitz family.
