New actors in the roles of young Ralphie and adult Ralph lead the cast in the fifth and final production of A Christmas Story at The Cleveland Play House.

THE GIVER, with a book by Lois Lowry and Nathan Christensen, music by Scott Murphy, and lyrics by Nathan Christensen, will hold a premiere reading at the Theatre Company at CAP21 on November 23rd. The cast for the reading will include Nick Blaemire, Vivienne Cleary, Jeff Edgerton, Frank Galgano, Bridget Harvey, Jaimie Kelton, Heather Matarazzo, Kathleen Oliva, Eric Peterson, and Nick Wyman. The reading will be directed by Pamela Berlin.

What was the Utopian ideal of the Bauhaus School, and how does it apply to contemporary society? This is the subject of a multi-disciplinary theater work now being developed by The Nerve Tank, to debut at The Brooklyn Lyceum October 9 to November 22.

Tony Award winner Victoria Clark (the Light in the Piazza), will team up with Broadway vets John Hillner (La Cage) and Andy Karl (9 to 5) for a staged reading of the 1983 Maltby and Shire musical Baby on November 16 at The Shop at CAP 21. The Theatre Company at CAP21 presents The Dorothy Strelsin New Works Reading Series -Salvation, a New Comedy by James McLindon. Salvation will be presented Monday, November 9th, 7:30PM.

According to a report in the New York Post, off-Broadway star Shami Chaikin, sister of the late, famed director Joseph Chaikin, was critically injured in Greenwich Village on Bleeker Street and 8th Avenue yesterday morning when a garbage truck hit her on her mobility scooter. Chaikin, 78, who had been riding in the bicycle lane underwent surgery at St. Vincent's hospital and remains in critical condition.
