The Edward C. & Ann T. Roberts Foundation will celebrate its 50th anniversary with the world-premiere of Ned and Sunny: A Hartford Love Story. The play, written by Hartford-based playwright, Jacques Lamarre, tells the story of Edward 'Ned' Roberts and Ann 'Sunny' Thorsen, arts enthusiasts who meet in 1938 through the Mark Twain Masquers, marry, and establish a foundation to support the arts in the Greater Hartford region.
Central Works concludes the 2014 season with 'Recipe,' a profoundly funny new work by Michael Gene Sullivan, opening with a press Night on Saturday October 18 at 8 pm and running through November 23 at the historic Berkeley City Club. This limited run continues through September 21st only. Olympics Über Alles will have scenic and lighting design by Duane Pagano with costume design by Janice O'Donnell and sound and projections design by Paul Bourgeois. The performance runs two hours including intermission.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company launches its 2014/15 Subscription Season with the Chicago premiere production of The Night Alive by celebrated playwright Conor McPherson. Henry Wishcamper directs a cast featuring ensemble members Francis Guinan and Tim Hopper with Helen Sadler, Dan Waller and M. Emmet Walsh. The world premiere of The Night Alive was produced at London's Donmar Warehouse in 2013. The Night Alive begins previews September 18, 2014 (opening night is September 28; press performances are September 27 at 3pm and September 30 at 7:30pm) and runs through November 16, 2014 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St).
