Sundance Institute Sets Creative Advisors & Acting Co For 2012 Theatre Lab

The Sundance Institute Theatre Program today announced the creative advisors and acting company for the three projects being developed at its 2012 Theatre Lab at White Oak in Yulee, Florida.

The Autry National Center presents a weekend-long celebration of Native American arts and culture centered around its annual American Indian Arts Marketplace. Featuring over 160 Native American artists selling their works of art in various mediums, the weekend will also host performances, children's activities, documentary films by the Sundance Institute, a collector's lecture, a panel discussion, book signings, and theatre performances by the Autry's world-renowned theatre company, Native Voices at the Autry.

Michael Attenborough directs the UK premiere of Neil LaBute's Reasons To Be Pretty. Reasons To Be Pretty will run at the Almeida Theatre from 10 November 2011 - 14 January 2012 with press night on 17 November. Designs are by Soutra Gilmour with lighting by Mark Henderson and sound by Fergus O'Hare. The cast comprises Kieran Bew, Siân Brooke, Tom Burke and Billie Piper.

Question Bridge Selected to Take Part in First Sundance New Frontier Story Lab, 10/23-28

The New Frontier Story Lab has selected Question Bridge as part of the five project teams to attend. The lab will focus on supporting projects that have original stories and engage audiences in innovative ways, across multiple platforms. Organized as an immersive lab experience, activities will include individualized story sessions, conversations about key artistic, design and technology issues, and case study presentations. Drawing talent and expertise from all of Sundance Institute's creative programs, including Feature Film, Documentary Film, and the Sundance Film Festival, the Lab has been planned under the supervision of Michelle Satter, Director of the Sundance Institute Feature Film Program.

Under new leadership, The Classical Theatre of Harlem is proud to present two gripping world premiere productions that mark the Company's return to full-scale works. From August 5 - September 4, The Classical Theatre of Harlem will present Shakespeare's great history play, Henry V, in a new staging directed by Jenny Bennett that features OBIE award-winner Ty Jones in the title role. An acclaimed veteran of the Company and driving force behind its survival, Jones heads a cast of 15 in a raw, timeless production. His interpretation of King Henry V not only highlights the character's charisma and inspirational power to lead, but also his heroic faults and morally questionable tactics.
