A limited 'sneak peek' run of Gentleman-George Production's ORRY will begin November 1, 2019 at The Lee Strasberg Theatre. Writer/performer Nick Hardcastle has adapted Oscar-winning costume designer Orry-Kelly's memoirs Women I've Dressed for a ninety-minute stage production (directed by Wayne Harrison) incorporating music, dance, vaudeville, puppetry, special effects and some of Orry-Kelly's award--winning creations. I had the chance to ask a few questions of Nick, in between his many, many responsibilities - theatrical and otherwise.

In 2016, Delaware Theatre Company brought the musical adaptation of the classic film DINER, written by Academy Award-winner Barry Levinson with music and lyrics by nine-time Grammy Award-winner Sheryl Crow, to the stage. Directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall, the musical was years in the making, having its initial regional premiere in DC's Signature Theatre in December 2014.

It has been a wild beginning to the week in terms of Broadway announcements, as not one, not two, but three shows announced main stem intentions for the next year. First, Monday brought a surprise Broadway announcement, as Ken Davenport and his fellow producers announced that the long-gestating original musical GETTIN' THE BAND BACK TOGETHER will be coming to Broadway's Belasco Theatre beginning in July of 2018.

If you caught the recent touring productions of Pippin or Motown: The Musical at Civic Center Music Hall, you've also been part of the first season for OKC Broadway presenting Broadway productions at the Music Hall. This young organization, formed through a partnership between the Civic Center Music Hall Foundation and the Nederlander Organization, is led by Elizabeth Gray, who is both the General Manager of OKC Broadway and Executive Director of the Civic Center Foundation. I spoke with Ms Gray about how OKC Broadway came to be, what audiences can expect in the near and long-term future, and how she sees OKC Broadway fitting into the arts community here in Oklahoma City.
