Adrian Noble Named As Artistic Director Of The Old Globe's 2010 Shakespeare Festival

Executive Producer Louis G. Spisto today announced the appointment of Adrian Noble as Artistic Director of The Old Globe's 2010 Shakespeare Festival celebrating the theater's 75th anniversary season. One of the theater's most respected and sought-after directors, Noble will oversee the Festival and direct two of the three productions presented in repertory. Noble succeeds Resident Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak who will leave his post in September to pursue independent directing opportunities. The annual festival will run from June 12 through September 26, 2010.

Actress/singer/songwriter Alicia Witt returns to Joe's Pub on Friday, July 17, 2009, 11:30 PM to celebrate the release of her new self-titled EP! Witt will be singing and playing a set of her original songs with full band.

16th Street Theater, a part of the North Berwyn Park District, is proud to announce its production of the remount of Brett Neveu's The Last Barbecue directed by Artistic Director Ann Filmer. The Last Barbecue will run July 9 - August 8, 2009 at the Berwyn Cultural Center, with a press opening of Saturday July 11 at 5:00 PM.

The Chimes & More Announced For 2009 Summer Play Festival 7/7-8/2

Eight productions have been announced for the eagerly anticipated 2009 Summer Play Festival (SPF). For its upcoming season, SPF will again be presented at The Public Theater. SPF 2009 will run from July 7 to August 2 and, as in years past, is expected to serve as a highlight of the summer theatre season by showcasing a line-up of new talent.

Rehearsals Begin For SLIPPING, Opening Night Set For 8/4 At The Rattlestick Playwrights Theater

Rehearsals start today, Thursday, July 2, for Slipping, written by Daniel Talbott and directed by Kirsten Kelly. Presented by Piece by Piece Productions and Rising Phoenix Repertory in association with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, Slipping begins performances for its New York premiere Tuesday, July 28 at 8pm at the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place. The opening night is set for Tuesday, August 4 at 7pm.

Stiles And Pullman To Spar In Mamet's OLEANNA On Broadway, Previews Begin 9/29

Producer Jeffrey Finn announced today that OLEANNA, the provocative drama by Pulitzer Prize winner David Mamet, will have its first-ever Broadway production as part of the 2009-2010 Broadway Season. Starring Bill Pullman and Julia Stiles and directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes, the play is a gripping account of a power struggle between a male university professor and one of his female students.

Mamet, Shepard and Brunstetter Works Set For Atlantic Theater's 2009-2010 Season

Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director, Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) is proud to announce three of its 2009-2010 season productions. Goodman Theatre Presents BOLEROS FOR THE DISENCHANTED 6/20 - 7/26

Goodman Theatre proudly concludes its 2008/2009 season with José Rivera's newest play, Boleros for the Disenchanted, 'an epic study of wedded life that is simply?and not so simply?marvelous' (Variety). A true love story inspired by Rivera's parents' courtship and eventual migration from Puerto Rico to Alabama, Boleros for the Disenchanted makes its Chicago premiere directed by Henry Godinez?the Goodman's Resident Artistic Associate who was named 2008 Latino of the Year by the Chicago Latino Network. Chicago actors Elizabeth Ledo and Sandra Marquez command the stage in the role of Flora, based on Rivera's mother, at various points in her life. Godinez's cast also includes Liza Fernandez, Joe Minoso, Rene Rivera and Felix Solis. Boleros for the Disenchanted is performed in English in the Albert Theatre June 20 ? July 26, 2009. Jeremy Irons Announces Theater Masters' 2009 Visionary Award Winners

Broadway and film star Jeremy Irons announced the second annual Theater Masters' Visionary Award winners on Thursday, May 14th. at a press reception. The 2009 Visionary Award Winners are Maria Alexandria Beech and Zayd Dohrn with New York's Primary Stages and The Dallas Theater Center as respective sponsoring theaters.
