The Hub Theatre announced their 2017-18 season today. Featuring two World Premieres that resonate mightily in our current climate; and the return of their Inaugural production. Season 10 continues Hub's record of staging intricate, honest and magical plays.

MasterVoices (formerly The Collegiate Chorale), closes its 75th anniversary season with Victor Herbert's Babes in Toyland on April 27, 2017 at 7pm at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall (57th Street and 7th Avenue, New York, NY 10019). The production will be conducted and directed by MasterVoices' Artistic Director Ted Sperling and will feature Kelli O'Hara (Contrary Mary), Bill Irwin (Master Toymaker), Christopher Fitzgerald (Alan), Lauren Worsham (Jane), Jay Armstrong Johnson (Tom Tom), Jonathan Freeman (Uncle Barnaby), Chris Sullivan (Gonzorgo), Jeffrey Schecter (Roderigo), Michael Kostroff (Chief Inspector Marmaduke), and Blair Brown (The Narrator), with the 130 singers of MasterVoices and Orchestra of St. Luke's. Musical Staging by Andrew Palermo, Costume Consulting by Tracy Christensen, and Concert Adaptation by Joe Keenan and Ted Sperling.

The Geffen Playhouse today announced that Jerry MacKinnon (Sleepy Hallow) and Samantha Ressler (This is the End) will star in award-winning playwright Anna Ziegler's Actually, a co-world premiere with the Williamstown Theatre Festival. Tyne Rafaeli will direct the Geffen's production which runs May 2, 2017 through June 11, 2017 in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Geffen Playhouse. Opening night is May 10, 2017. 

Actor Patrick Mulryan, a member of the Fiasco Theater Company, is currently playing Jack in their touring production of Into the Woods at the Ahmanson through May 14. He took time from his busy schedule to talk about the role and his blossoming theatre career. Patrick, you are having such a great time playing Jack that the joy you are feeling transcends the footlights. What is your honest impression of him? Define his character traits and flaws.

Based on the iconic film, GROUNDHOG DAY The Musical is reimagined by the award-winning creators of the international hit Matilda The Musical-including director Matthew Warchus and songwriter Tim Minchin-with a book by original screenwriter Danny Rubin. Starring two-time Tony Award® nominee Andy Karl, GROUNDHOG DAY is the new musical comedy about living life to the fullest, one day at a time. Meet the cast before they take their opening bows!

Silas Weir Mitchell and Dana Green star in Constellations - playwright Nick Payne's exploration of love in the multiverse - opening at The Armory on May 19, with preview performances beginning May 13, and regular performances running through June 11.

Atlantic Theater Company has announced complete casting for the New York premiere play Animal by Clare Lizzimore (Mint) directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch (Harper Regan, Bluebird).

The Old Globe presents Skeleton Crew by Dominique Morisseau. The Globe is the first regional theatre in the country to mount the play, which was presented here as a reading in the 2014 Powers New Voices Festival before an acclaimed Off Broadway run. San Diego director Delicia Turner Sonnenberg makes her Globe debut to helm the award-winning drama, which is presented in association with San Diego's MOXIE Theatre, where Turner Sonnenberg is Founding Artistic Director. A woman finds her calling while volunteering for an underground political newspaper during the early years of the United Farm Workers movement. Written and directed by Obie Award winner Diane Rodriguez, the world premiere of The Sweetheart Deal opens May 12 at The Los Angeles Theatre Center, presented by The Latino Theater Company in association with El Teatro Campesino.

Broadway singer and actress D'Vorah Bailey returns with her solo cabaret show, Wishful Thinking, at The Metropolitan Room on Saturday, April 29 at 7:00 pm.

Cygnet's fourteenth season ends with the manic, irreverent and wildly imaginative presentation of the theatrical event, Shockheaded Peter. This 1998 musical took a famed German children's book series and turned it into an instant classic. The stage production of Shockheaded Peter won rave reviews around the world as one of the most original collaborations of its kind. It featured music by The Tiger Lillies, a three-piece band with a cult following in London, and includes graphic and hilariously sadistic lessons for children about what will happen to them if they don't do as they are told. These cautionary tales for children become lessons for adults in the completely demented stage production.

Even after his supposed "death" at Reichenbach Falls, the great detective kept his hold on the world through the frauds, fakes and charlatans claiming to be him, forcing the loyal Dr. Watson to find the truth in Arizona Theatre Company's world premiere of Jeffrey Hatcher's Holmes and Watson.

Yale Repertory Theatre (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) concludes its 50th Anniversary Season with the world premiere of MARY JANE by Amy Herzog, directed by Anne Kauffman, April 28 through May 20 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). Opening Night is Friday, May 5.

TheaterWorks announced today that NEXT TO NORMAL will extend again through May 14, 2017.

Just announced, The Old Globe and Children's Theatre Company, in partnership with The Old Vic, will present Dr. Seuss's The Lorax, based on the book The Lorax by Dr. Seuss, adapted for the stage by David Greig, with music and lyrics by Charlie Fink, directed by Max Webster.

The Public Theater announced initial casting today for the 2017 Free Shakespeare in the Park season, beginning Tuesday, May 23 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, continuing a 55-year tradition of free theater in Central Park.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full and final casting for the world premiere of Monsoon Wedding. The musical stage production will be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mira Nair and hosts a cast of 20 actors from around the globe.

The dog days of summer arrive early this year, as Rubicon Theatre Company presents a spring production of A.R. Gurney's howlingly funny canine comedy SYLVIA, a love story about empty nesters Greg and Kate, and an irrepressible mutt named Sylvia. Written by Drama Desk, Obie and Lortel Award-winning playwright A.R. Gurney (also known for Love Letters and The Dining Room), the plot follows what happens after a man going through a midlife crisis finds a dog in Central Park and brings her home without consulting his wife.
