Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University Welcomes Twyla Tharp's 50th Anniversary Tour This Week

The Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University presents Twyla Tharp – 50th Anniversary Tour including two Chicago premieres, “Preludes and Fugues” and “Yowzie” this week, November 5 – 8, at the historic Auditorium Theatre, 50 E. Congress Parkway. In a momentous co-commission with Ravinia Festival, as well as four other dance presenters in four other cities, the Auditorium is thrilled to present these two new works by world-renowned choreographer Twyla Tharp. The performance schedule is Today, Nov. 5 – Saturday, Nov. 7 at  7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. Tickets are priced $33 - $103 and are available online at AuditoriumTheatre.org by calling (312) 341-2300 or in-person at the Auditorium Theatre's Box Office, 50 E. Twyla Tharp 50th Anniversary Tour to Conclude At Koch Theater, 11/17-22

The Twyla Tharp Fiftieth Anniversary Tour concludes its 10-weeks of cross–country performances with a week-long season at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, November 17-22, where it will present a double bill of New York premieres: “Preludes and Fugues” and “Yowzie.” Both works were commissioned in part by The Joyce Theater, which is presenting the Tharp season at The Koch.

2015 Bessie Award Winners Announced!

The NY Dance and Performance Awards, The Bessies, New York City's premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, announced the complete list of 2015 award recipients tonight at the 31st Annual Bessie Awards ceremony. Twyla Tharp's 'The 50th Anniversary Tour' Stops at Bass Concert Hall Tonight

Instead of creating the expected for her 50th Anniversary Tour - a retrospective of her greatest hits - Twyla Tharp's restless spirit demanded she choreograph two brand new works for her troupe of 13 dancers. The Bass Concert Hall performance will showcase these two new dances, Preludes and Fugues and Yowzie.

The Old Globe's GLOBE FOR ALL returns to bring free professional Shakespeare directly to diverse, multigenerational audiences in underserved communities around San Diego County. This second year of GLOBE FOR ALL follows a highly successful inaugural production in 2014. One of the Bard's most charming comedies, MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, will be directed by renowned Shakespearean Rob Melrose, Artistic Director of San Francisco's Cutting Ball Theater, who makes his Globe debut. He directs a cast of local professional actors, including recent graduates of the Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program.

Ballet Hispanico, celebrating 45 years of sharing and reflecting the diversity of Latino cultures through dance, announced the grand opening of Ballet Hispanico at the Arnhold Center & the Ford Foundation Lobby on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 167 W. 89th Street. Garth Fagan Dance Tributes to Geoffrey Holder With DANCE FOR/WITH GEOFFREY This Weekend

Ebony Repertory Theatre (ERT - Founder/Producer Wren T. Brown) announced today that Garth Fagan Dance will bring to Los Angeles Fagan's tribute to the late Geoffrey Holder, 'Dance for/With Geoffrey.' Theatre and Dance at Wayne Welcomes Anna Sperber as Guest Artist

The Wayne State Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance welcomes Anna Sperber as the Fall 2015 Company One guest artist. Sperber will be holding classes with Dance Department students from October 29th-November 2nd as she creates a short repertory piece for Company One.  This new work will be performed in the Allesee Dance Theatre on Monday November 2nd at 12:00 p.m.  Admission to the event is Free.

Limon International Festival Programs Set for Joyce Season, Now thru 10/25
