Way Off Broadway Adds Holiday Performance, 12/15

The Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre's new holiday production, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, has followed in the footsteps of the theatre's other children's Christmas shows by selling out only shortly into its run. That being the case, Way Off Broadway has added an additional performance of the show on Wednesday evening, December 15th. The doors will open for dinner at 6:00 p.m. with the show beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Performance Network Theatre Announces FIRESIDE FESTIVAL, 12/5-8

As part of Performance Network's continued dedication to support and provide a voice for new and emerging playwrights, the Fireside Festival of New Works will be held December 5th - 8th. This twice-yearly festival of staged readings, which is to be held at Performance Network Theatre, will feature brand new works by four Michigan playwrights. Each reading will be followed by a post-show discussion with the playwright and director.

Victorian Thriller, GASLIGHT, Opens At Florida Rep

Set in 1880's fog-bound London, Gaslight is an edge-of-your-seat psychological thriller that tells the story of the Manninghams of Angel Street. Under the guise of kindliness, the handsome Mr. Manningham is torturing his wife into insanity in hopes of ultimately disposing of her and getting away with murder. It is the quintessential Victorian thriller is filled with intrigue, treachery and good, old-fashioned melodramatic fun.

Network Theatre Extends DROWSY CHAPERONE Through 1/2

Due to record-breaking ticket sales before it has even opened, Performance Network Theatre will extend it's production of 'The Drowsy Chaperone' for an additional week past it's originally scheduled run. This musical comedy, with book by Bob Martin and Don Mckeller and musics and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, will now run through January 2.

'How I Became A Pirate' Opens Lunchbox Theatre Series

'The Lunchbox Theatre Series got a makeover this season,' said Florida Rep Education Director, Rachael Endrizzi. 'Not only are we performing onstage in the Historic Arcade Theatre, but we have a new lunch partner, The Morgan House -and we've added a whole new component with an interactive workshop that will really enhance each child's theatre experience. It is going to be an exciting year, and we're thrilled to open with How I Became a Pirate.'

Performance Network Theatre Presents THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, 11/11-12/26

Performance Network Theatre announces it's production of 'The Drowsy Chaperone' with book by Bob Martin and Don Mckeller and musics and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison. The musical comedy, which recently received the Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score, will run November 11 through December 26, 2010. 'The Drowsy Chaperone' is directed by Carla Milarch (Little Shop of Horrors, The Baker's Wife, The Fantasticks) with Musical Direction by R. MacKenzie Lewis (Little Shop of Horrors, The Baker's Wife) and stars Naz Edwards, Scott Crownover, Phil Powers, Andrea Mellos, Mark Hammell, Matt Anderson, Eva Rosenwald, Linda Rabin Hammell, Brian Thibault, Lisa Lauren Smith, Charlie Sutherland, Pete Podolski and Phill Harmer.

WOB Holds Auditions for 101 DALMATIANS, 12/6

The Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre first opened in 1996 and since then has become a popular entertainment destination for families looking for a fun weekend activity, it has also become a great spot for birthday parties and school trips. In all of that time, there has only been one open casting call for Children's Theatre productions, as the casts are usually made up of performers who are invited to join a cast. In addition, the cast for the Children's Theatre productions is made up of professional adult actors. For the first time in its history, the Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre is holding an open casting call for children performers.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre has been one of the most unique entertainment venues in the region since it first opened. Offering a fantastic dinner combined with a Broadway-style show, the Way Off Broadway experience is a full evening of leisure and entertainment. But the dinner theatre is only on piece of what makes up Way Off Broadway. In 1996, the theatre opened, what has become, it's wildly popular Children's Theatre. To this day, the Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre is the only children's lunch matinee offered in the area.

NJ Playwrights Theatre Presents ACROSS THE WIDE AND LONESOME PRAIRIE, 11/4-11/21

In association with The Growing Stage in Netcong, NJ, Playwrights Theatre is pleased to present ACROSS THE WIDE AND LONESOME PRAIRIE by Julie Jensen. The production (appropriate for ages 8 and up) will preview on November 4 and run for three weeks through November 21, 2010 (Press Opening: Friday, November 5 at 8:00pm). The production will be directed by John Pietrowski and features Jane Keitel and Lori Lawrence. Single tickets are on sale now $25 for adults, $22.50 for seniors, $20 for book clubs and groups of 10 or more, and $15 for students.
