New Village Arts Presents THOM PAIN, 9/7-10/2

New Village Arts is thrilled to introduce one of the most exciting new American playwrights to San Diego audiences. Will Eno's THOM PAIN (based on nothing) was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and one of the most exciting new plays to come out of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and New York City.

Rep Stage Opens 19th Season With OR, 8/31-9/18

Rep Stage, the professional Equity theatre in residence at Howard Community College (HCC), opens its 19th season with Liz Duffy Adams' farcical comedy 'Or,'. The free love of the '60s - the 1660s - is riotously explored in this recent Off-Broadway sleeper hit based on real-life playwright Aphra Behn's life as an undercover spy and her romantic romps through Restoration England in order to gain entry into the boys' playwriting club. Michael Stebbins, Rep Stage's producing artistic director, who directed last season's critically acclaimed 'Two by J.M.Barrie: The New Word and The Old Lady Shows Her Medals,' returns to direct this regional premiere. Jason Odell Williams ('Two by J.M. Barrie...'), Christine Demuth ('Two by J.M. Barrie...' and 'The Glass Menagerie') and Broadway alum Charlotte Cohn star.

ONE, TWO, WHATEVER YOU DO To Premiere at Fringe Festival, 8/14-28

Younger Child Productions presents the world premiere production of One, Two, Whatever you do..., a new play by Vanessa Shealy, as part of the fifteenth annual New York International Fringe Festival. The play will have six performances at Fringe venue #12.

THE CELL and THE HIVE THEATRE COMPANY are pleased to announce the world premiere production of Terry Quinn's BAD EVIDENCE, directed by Kira Simring. BAD EVIDENCE will play a limited engagement at The Cell (338 West 23rd Street New York, NY 10011). BAD EVIDENCE will be playing in rep with MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, as part of the cell's Summer of Lust. Performances ends on Sunday, July 31.

Chosen from over 1,030 submissions by playwriting workshops, university theatre programs, and professional companies nationwide, With a Shrug by Playwright Nicholas Priore (MFA '10, The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University) and produced by Pamela Scott/Aching Dogs Theatre Company will be presented at the 36th Annual Samuel French Inc. Off Off Broadway (OOB) Short Play Festival at 8 pm on July 22nd at The Lion Theatre (410 West 42nd Street, NYC).

Second Stage Premieres SEX LIVES OF OUR PARENTS

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) kicks off this summer's Second Stage Theatre Uptown Series with the world premiere of Sex Lives of Our Parents, written by Michael Mitnick. Directed by Davis McCallum, Sex Lives of Our Parents will feature Teddy Bergmann (Peter and the Starcatcher), Lisa Emery (Far East), Daniel Jenkins (Mary Poppins), Virginia Kull (Dividing the Estate), Ben Rappaport (NBC's 'Outsourced') and Mark Zeisler (Second Stage Theatre's Eurydice). Previews begin on June 7th and opening night is Wednesday, June 22

Accidental Rep Theater Presents ADAMS' APPLES, Closes 6/5

The Accidental Repertory Theater's (ART) production of ADAMS' APPLES inspired by Chekhov's CHERRY ORCHARD, written and directed by John Strasberg and being presented at the Living Theatre, will close on June 5, 2011.
