Clea Alsip and More Join Mark Linn-Baker in George Street Playhouse's ONE SLIGHT HITCH; Full Cast Announced!

George Street Playhouse and Artistic Director David Saint have announced that full casting for their 2012-13 season opener, One Slight Hitch, has been completed. Joining the previously-announced Mark Linn-Baker will be Clea Alsip, Rosie Benton, Lauren Ashley Carter, Scott Drummond, Lizbeth Mackay and Christopher Tocco. Helmed by Joe Grifasi, this tale of matrimonial mayhem will begin performances Tuesday, October 2 and continue through Sunday, October 28. Opening night, with a dessert reception sponsored by Stage Left and Catherine Lombardi restaurants, will be Friday, October 5.
WICKED at the Fox Theatre Goes On Sale 9/15

After breaking box office records in the three previous engagements, WICKED, Broadway's biggest blockbuster, will return to the Fox Theatre this holiday season from December 12, 2012 through January 6, 2013. Tickets for the return engagement go on sale Saturday, September 15. Internet sales through metrotix.com will begin at 9 a.m.; the Fox Box Office and MetroTix charge by phone at 314-534-1111 will open at 10 a.m.

Smith Center Announces WICKED Lottery Policy

A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held for WICKED at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts with performances from August 29 - October 7. Two and one-half hours prior to each performance, people who present themselves at the The Smith Center box office will have their names placed in a lottery drum; thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person. Lottery participants must have a valid photo ID when submitting their entry form, if chosen, when purchasing tickets.

Currently playing at the La Jolla Playhouse is The Nightingale, by the creative team behind the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening: Steven Sater (book and lyrics) and Duncan Sheik (music). Directed by Tony Award nominee Moises Kaufman (33 Variations, I Am My Own Wife), the production runs July 10 - August 5, 2012 in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre. The theatre recently held an open discussion about the color-blind casting of the show, which has gotten attention amoungst the Asian-American community. ANNIE, the new production of the classic Tony Award-winning musical, is now on sale. ANNIE, which features a Tony Award-winning score by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin and a Tony Award-winning book by Thomas Meehan, will be directed by three-time Tony Award-winner James Lapine and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler. The production begins previews on October 3 at the Palace Theatre (1567 Broadway at 47th Street). Opening night is Thursday, November 8.
