WCSU Stages Reimagined, Immersive Musical UBU

The Western Connecticut State University Department of Theatre Arts will present 'Ubu - An Absurdist Immersive Gran Guignol Musical' in eight performances from Feb. 26 through March 4 in the Studio Theatre of the Visual and Performing Arts Center on the university's Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury.

PILOBOLUS Comes to The Warner

ASAP! and the Warner Theatre present one of the most popular and unusual dance companies in the world, PILOBOLUS, to the Warner's Main Stage on Saturday, March 30 for performances at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Pilobolus will perform an electrifying mix of humor, intelligence, physical invention, and raw athleticism. In addition to the full Pilobolus show, ASAP!'s Ultimate Collaboration with Pilobolus and American Mural Project will be featured along with the Multi-Generational Community Dance Project.

The Allman Betts Band Comes to The Warner

The Warner Theatre will welcome The Allman Betts Band to the Main Stage on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 8 PM. After a successful year touring as The Devon Allman Project with special guest Duane Betts, the sons of Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts are joining forces to form The Allman Betts Band. They will kick off 2019 with a new Allman Betts Band album and a worldwide tour that will feature new music, songs from their solo projects and classic Allman Brothers and Gregg Allman tunes in honor of the 50th Anniversary of The Allman Brothers Band.

BWW Review: TRUE WEST at OSU Department Of Theatre

True West tells the story of two brothers whose initially opposing and intermittently intersecting behaviors, ambitions, and anxieties are revealed while house-sitting in Southern California. The crux of the play is this ever-present tension between a superficial realism and a self-referential indulgence of abstract ideas. In OSU's production, young actors present a formidable interpretation of the nuanced characters in this American masterwork.

Bookstore1Sarasota And FST Celebrate 8th Annual PoetryLife

On Monday, February 18, the 8th Annual PoetryLife event, a celebration of poetry and the inspiration it serves for writers and artists around the globe, was held at Florida Studio Theatre in association with Bookstore1Sarasota. PoetryLife was started by Bookstore1Sarasota owner and PoetryLife creative director, Georgia Court, who believes that the written word is an essential part of young people's education and of enjoying life as an adult. She said, "Young people exposed to poetry are given a life-long love of language and poetry gives adults a way to enhance and appreciate a life well-lived."
