Starting Monday, actor Liev Schreiber will spar on stage with Scarlett Johansson in Arthur Miller's emotionally-charged play, 'A View from the Bridge'. Schreiber plays Eddie Carbone, a Brooklyn man who falls into a dangerous obsession with his 17-year-old niece, played by Broadway newcomer Johansson.
While notable itself, Scarlett Johansson's Broadway debut in Arthur Miller's 'A View From the Bridge', set to open in previews on Monday December 28, also marks the momentous return to the stage of director Gregory Mosher. Mosher last directed a Broadway play 17 years ago; the production of 'A Streetcar Named Desire' starring Alec Baldwin and Jessica Lange.

As previously reported, buzz has begun that the Cate Blanchett-led production of 'A Streetcar Named Desire,' now playing its final performances at BAM, may have a Broadway future. In a new report in the New York Times, Patrick Healy reports: 'Stephen C. Byrd, a theater producer who holds the rights to mount 'A Streetcar Named Desire' on Broadway, said in an interview that he would 'love' to transfer the critically acclaimed production now at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, starring Cate Blanchett, to Broadway in 2010.'

The Tony nominated cast of Yasmina Reza's GOD OF CARNAGE have extended their contracts through November 15. The entire production took a 6 week summer hiatusto allow the cast to fulfill previously scheduled family commitments. The production, starring Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Marcia Gay Harden will resume performances tonight, Tuesday, September 8 and continue through Sunday, November 15 with the current award winning ensemble.
