Great Lakes Theater (GLT), Cleveland's Classic Company, concludes its 2017-18 season with the pitch-perfect jukebox musical smash, Forever Plaid.

Theater Works 2017-18 season sees the return of lauded composers, masterful writers and classic tales come to life.

FOREVER PLAID by Stuart Ross is a musical that lends itself to offering audiences a goofy, charming musical escape, and is considered one of the most popular and successful off-Broadway musicals in history. Having never before seen a production of it, I have always been curious why those who have either been in a production or seen the show are such outspoken fans of it. Those involved with the show speak of the 'brotherhood of Plaid' that exists between those who have performed or directed the show previously, with the understanding that if called upon at any time to take part in a production of the musical, it would be a crime to not jump in and make the show an audience favorite. So when I was invited to the current production at the International City Theatre in Long Beach, I jumped at the chance to see what all the fuss is about.

Pantochino Teen Theatre will present the out-of-this-world pop musical, "Starmites" by Barry Keating and Stuart Ross for two performances on February 25 & 26 at the Milford Center for the Arts on Railroad Avenue in Downtown Milford.

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and the preservation of musical gems from the past, in association with Quill Entertainment Company, as part of its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series, will present the staged reading of the new musical Conrack, based on the novel The Water Is Wide by Pat Conroy, with music by Lee Pockriss, book by Granville Wyche Burgess, lyrics by Anne Croswell, additional music by Doug Katsaros, and additional lyrics by Granville Wyche Burgess.

As part of the New York New Works Theatre Festival, Jenny DiNoia - who is currently starring as Elphaba on Broadway's Wicked - takes center stage in an original musical production, 'Flesh and Spirit', alongside Jonathan Ritter ('Finding Neverland'), Richard H.  International City Theatre has announced its 32nd season of plays at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center, where ICT is the resident professional theater company. Set to open in February, the 2017 season ventures a look at the mysteries of life, love and the universe with two Los Angeles premieres and two crowd-pleasing revivals. A fifth play will be announced at a later date.

Due to overwhelming demand, Theatre Under the Stars' (TUTS) acclaimed productions of Disney's Beauty and the Beast & West Side Story will extend their runs by one week. These seven newly added performances will see the shows run at Stanley Park's picturesque Malkin Bowl (on alternating evenings) through to August 27, 2016.

Meadow Brook Theatre wraps up its golden anniversary season with "Forever Plaid" May 25 through June 19, 2016, on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester. "Forever Plaid" was written and originally directed and choreographed by Stuart Ross with music continuity supervision and arrangements by James Raitt. It was originally produced by Gene Wolsk.

Award-winning Pantochino Productions Inc. has announced its bold 2016/17 season which includes three original musicals for family audiences, a Teen Theatre production and a second season of it's Nite Spot Nights series produced in conjunction with the Milford Arts Council.

Indie Chi Productions presents the world premiere of playwright Andrea Lepcio's DINNER AT HOME BETWEEN DEATHS a bit undercooked; with lighting cues missed, the stumbling over lines, and an integral plot incident causing unintentional laughter. Stuart Ross does smartly direct his committed, obliging cast at a fast clip in this 90-minute black comedy.

Starvox Entertainment today announced the casting and creative details for the Toronto production of Forever Plaid. Directed and choreographed by award-winning Dayna Tekatch, the show will return to the Toronto stage for the first time in 20 years. The fan-favorite musical runs from Tuesday, May 17 through Sunday, June 12 at the Panasonic Theatre (651 Yonge St.).
