Freya Barker Releases Contemporary Romance Novel, CRUEL WATER
by Christina Mancuso - Mar 18, 2016

Author Freya Barker is pleased to announce the release of her new contemporary romance novel, Cruel Water. This is the second book in her Portland, ME series. Innocence marked her... Violation crippled her... Love left her raw... The life she carefully rebuilt is challenged when she is confronted with the sins from her past. The carefully applied protection is at once ripped away, leaving her exposed and vulnerable. Her single night of indulgence with the silver-eyed stranger is only the beginning. He sees right to the heart of her and she is unable to ward off emotions that have been deeply buried. With the sting of betrayal still fresh in her soul, she's surprised to find herself opening up to the honest integrity of the sharp-eyed, rough-looking biker. When he lost everyone who mattered, he was left without roots and learned to be content simply living in the moment. Completely unprepared for the feisty blonde bartender with old pain marring her clear-blue eyes, he questions his own rules of detachment, as she unwittingly finds a way under his skin. Appearances deceive and when the masks fall away, revealing deep, dark secrets, there is nothing left but to hang onto each other and survive the storm. **Due to content of a sexually explicit nature, this book is recommended for a mature audience only.** Book Details: Cruel Water Portland, ME, novels Book 2 By Freya Barker Publisher: Freya Barker Published: March 3, 2016 ISBN: 978-0994951427 ASIN: B01AKPA23O Pages: 388 Genre: Contemporary Romance, Women's Fiction About The Author: Freya Barker inspires with her stories about 'real' people, perhaps less than perfect, each struggling to find their own slice of happy. Pacific Symphony to Provide Live Accompaniment to 1925 Film BEN-HUR, Today
by BWW News Desk - Mar 18, 2016

Orange County, Calif.—Feb. 25, 2016—Pacific Symphony, led by Principal Pops Conductor Richard Kaufman, brings one of the most legendary silent films ever made—the 1925 larger-than-life “Ben-Hur”—to full breath-taking splendor in the concert hall, when the orchestra performs the score live as the movie is shown on the giant screen. The score—newly composed for the classic Hollywood hit—was written by Stewart Copeland, former drummer for “The Police,” who performs on drums and a myriad of percussion instruments (including trash cans to create the sounds of the Roman troops), alongside the orchestra for this movie extravaganza. With its enormous cast and crew and a visual scope that is awe-inspiring to this day, “Ben-Hur” tells the tale of a Jewish prince who is betrayed and sent into slavery by a Roman friend, but lives to regain his freedom and return for revenge. Buckle your seat belt for a wild chariot race, bloody battle scenes at sea and music that enhances every minute of it—all the ingredients for a very special event.
