Rebeca Tomás and Company Bring CINCO POR CINCO to Theatre 80 St. Marks, Now thru 5/19

With a new program of innovative and edgy repertoire, Rebeca Tomas will bring her A Palo Seco Flamenco Company back to Theatre 80 Saint Marks tonight, May 17 to 19 in a new production, 'Cinco Por Cinco.' Tomas, a fierce and feminine NY-based Flamenco artist, will direct her company of five dancers, two singers and three musicians in a show that promises to be true to her vision of upholding Flamenco's traditions while also pushing its boundaries and giving it a distinctive New York City feel.

The Pearl Extends THIS SIDE OF NEVERLAND Through 5/26

Due to popular demand, The Pearl Theatre Company extends This Side of Neverland, a duo of one-act plays by J. M. Barrie, to May 26. This Side of Neverland features J. M. Barrie's Rosalind and The Twelve Pound Look with direction by Artistic Director J. R. Sullivan.The New York Times says, "How refreshing it is to be reminded of this feminist battle cry not by a straight-out-of-central-casting cliche but by an early-20th-century nobleman whom we usually associate with boyish fantasies." while Time Out New York says, "Barrie's still-fresh 1914 twosome...makes heroes of self-willed, single, middle-aged women. That's better than pirates any day.' And Michael Giltz inThe Huffington Post says, "The Pearl Theatre Company proves again with this diverting entertainment why all theater buffs and casual fans should take a trip to their ideal new home."

Philadelphia's Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers Moves to Mandell Theater with World Premiere on March 22nd & 23rd

Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers makes their Spring Philadelphia appearance at Drexel University's Mandell Theater on Friday, March 22 at 8 PM and Saturday, March 23 at 3 PM and 8 PM. The program, ONE: Gifts from Afar, features the world premiere of One, an exploration of humankind's rituals surrounding the drive to win. Offering contemporary, Zen-inspired works of poetic sensibility, Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers will pair One with the return of its critically acclaimed work Mandala Project which serves as a complementary piece for the new work. Tickets starting at $27 are available on Dance Box Office. Mandell Theater is located at 33rd and Chestnut Streets.
