Baz Bamigboye reports in the U.K. Daily Mail today that Estelle Parsons will join Jonathan Groff and Simon Russell Beale in the West End production of DEATHTRAP this fall. The role of the 'eccentric Dutch psychic' was orginally to be played by Anna Massey, however she recently withdrew from the project for personal reasons.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey begins its 2010 season with one of William Shakespeare's most popular comedies - The Taming of the Shrew. Directed by Bonnie J. Monte, who is celebrating her 20th Anniversary Season as artistic director of The Shakespeare Theatre, The Taming of the Shrew begins performances on June 2 and continues through June 27.

It's sad, but many times when the topic of Peter Schaffer's Tony Award Winning play Equus enters the conversation at cocktail parties, someone invariably remarks, 'Isn't that the show about the naked English kid and the horses?' Tonight, June 1 at 8pm, HBO will air 'I Knew It Was You: Rediscovering John Cazale,' a documentary about actor John Cazale. Cazale appeared in 'The Godfather' (as Fredo Corleone), 'The Godfather: Part II,' 'The Conversation,' 'Dog Day Afternoon,' and 'The Deer Hunter.' The film will explore both Cazale's film credits and his background in the theater.

Rehearsals begin today, Monday, April 5 for the World Premiere production of PARADISE FOUND, a new musical under the combined direction of Theater legend and 21-time Tony Award winner Harold Prince (the original productions of Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, The Phantom of the Opera, Company, Follies, Evita) and 5-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (Crazy For You, Show Boat, The Producers, Contact). This is their first collaboration since the landmark, Tony Award-winning revival of Show Boat. Following the New York rehearsal period, the production will open at London's acclaimed Menier Chocolate Factory with performances running May 19 through June 26.

Barefoot Theatre Company will present the closing event of the 70/70 Project, a yearlong, worldwide festival showcasing 70 plays by the soon-to-be 71-year-old playwright. The celebration features a reading of Unexpected Tenderness, one of Horovitz's most personal plays, live music, a surprise guest host and more. This special evening will take place at the Bleecker Street Theatre (45 Bleecker between Lafayette and Mott streets) on Wednesday, March 31st, 2010. Cocktail hour is at 7pm; curtain rises at 8. Tickets are $25 per person.
