EQUUS To Offer Student Rush Tickets Beginning 10/28

The hit Broadway production of EQUUS will offer $31.50 student rush tickets beginning Tuesday, October 28 at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street). Peter Shaffer's EQUUS stars Richard Griffiths and Daniel Radcliffe and is directed by Thea Sharrock. The production is playing a strictly limited engagement through February 8, 2009.

Philip J. Smith and Lorne Michaels Honored by St. Malachy's Church

Shubert Organization President Philip J. Smith and Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels, both major figures in the entertainment industry, will be honored by St. Malachy's Church, a.k.a. the Actors Chapel, at the Father George Moore Benefit Dinner at Sardi's, 234 West 44th Street, on Monday, October 27, at 6:00pm.

SPAMALOT to Close on Broadway on January 18, 2009

Monty Python's SPAMALOT, the 2005 Tony Award® winning Broadway musical lovingly ripped-off from the internationally famous comedy team's most popular motion picture, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, will play its last pair of coconuts on Sunday, January 18, 2009.

The Sun is reporting that actor actor Zac Efron may be considering the role of Alan Strang in EQUUS. At the London premiere of High School Musical 3 Efron was quoted as saying, 'You know that Daniel Radcliffe role on Broadway? Well it's been mentioned.'

This marks the first time a Broadway actor has held a contest allowing fans to write their official Playbill biography through their official fan website.
