West End's THE NETHER Begins Tonight at Duke of York's Theatre

Sonia Friedman Productions, Scott M Delman and Tulchin Bartner Productions present the West End transfer of Jennifer Haley's critically acclaimed, multi-award-winning The Nether. In a Headlong and Royal Court Theatre co-production directed by Jeremy Herrin, The Nether previews at the Duke of York's Theatre from tonight 30 January 2015, opens on 23 February and is booking for 12 weeks only to 25 April 2015.

UK Tour of English Touring Theatre & RSC's A MAD WORLD MY MASTERS Sets Full Cast

Following a critically acclaimed run in Stratford in 2013, the Royal Shakespeare Company and English Touring Theatre's production of Thomas Middleton's A Mad World My Masters returns in 2015 for an eight venue national tour to Wolverhampton Grand Theatre (26 - 28 February), Grand Theatre Blackpool (5 - 7 March), Theatre Royal Brighton (10 - 14 March), Malvern Theatres (24 - 28 March), Hall for Cornwall (31 March - 4 April), Theatre Royal Bath (7 - 11 April), Darlington Civic Theatre (14 - 18 April), and Cambridge Arts Theatre (21 - 25 April), before a limited run at the Barbican (29 April - 9 May).

In the second episode of Shakespeare Uncovered II, airing at 10:00 pm on January 30th, Christopher Plummer explores Shakespeare's great tragedy, KING LEAR. It is a role he knows well, having played the doomed king in a critically acclaimed production that was directed by Sir Jonathan Miller.

Sian Phillips to Lead PLAYING FOR TIME at Sheffield Theatres

To mark the Centenary of Arthur Miller's birth and the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, Richard Beecham will direct a revival of Miller'sPlaying for Time in the Crucible. Beecham directs Kate Adams (Helene), Noa Bodner (Esther), Pascale Burgess (Elzvieta), Imogen Daines (Etalina),Emma Darlow (Liesl), Holly De Jong (Schmidt), James Duke (Mengele / Kapo / Cellist / Paul), Amanda Hadingue (Alma Rose), Melanie Heslop(Marianne), Rebecca Jenkins (Varya), Kate Lynn-Evans (Mandel), Maeve O'Sullivan (Greta / Olga), Sian Phillips (Fania), Danny Scheinmann (Schmuel / Captain Heinz / Second Chess Player / First Trooper), Augustina Seymour (Paulette/ Music Captain), Christopher Staines (Commandant Kramer / 1st Chess Player / SS Guard / Kapo / Pianist) and Alexia Traverse-Healy (Mala / Tchaikowska). Completing the cast are 17 members of Sheffield People's Theatre - the theatre's intergenerational acting company from across the region.

MACBETH to Play Notre Dame, 2/11-13

Actors From The London Stage (AFTLS), a self-directed ensemble of five professional British actors, will present William Shakespeare's Macbeth at the historic Washington Hall on the campus of the University of Notre Dame on February 11, 12, and 13, 2015 at 7:30pm. These performances are part of a national tour for this production with stops at Texas A&M University, Valparaiso University, Principia College, Vassar College, the University of Wyoming, and the University of North Carolina - Charlotte.

Full Cast Announced for THE RISE AND SHINE OF COMRADE FIASCO

Full casting is announced today for the first production in the Gate Theatre's Freedom Burning season, Andrew Whaley's award-winning play The Rise and Shine of Comrade Fiasco - a witty and energised allegory of life in post-colonial Zimbabwe. The production is directed by Elayce Ismail, the recipient of this year's JP Morgan Award for Emerging Directors. She directs Gary Beadle (Jungle), Kurt Egyiawan (Chidhina), Joan Iyiola (Febi) and Abdul Salis (Fiasco).

West End's THE NETHER to Host Post-Show Talkbacks

The Nether will host post-show Q&A talks during the play's West End run at the Duke of York's Theatre. With members of the creative team, as well as further guests from the worlds of theatre, the media, gaming and technology industries, there will be 6 Q&A talks after selected performances of the play. All Q&A talks are free for The Nether ticket holders.

THE RULING CLASS Revival, Starring James McAvoy, Begins Previews in the West End

Ron Cook (Mr Selfridge, Henry V, King Lear, Hot Fuzz) as Sir Charles Gurney, Kathryn Drysdale (Suspects, Love's Labour's Lost, Tripping Over, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps) as Grace Shelley, Joshua McGuire (Privacy, Posh, About Time, Mr Turner) as Dinsdale Gurney and Anthony O'Donnell (The Captain of Kopenick, Skyfall, Matchpoint) as Daniel Tucker, join BAFTA winning James McAvoy, as Jack, the 14th Earl of Gurney, in the first West End revival of Peter Barnes' satirical comedy, The Ruling Class, directed by Jamie Lloyd, Artistic Director of Trafalgar Transformed.

Nicholas Pinnock to Lead THE ROYALE at Bush Theatre

Nicholas Pinnock (Top Boy, Fortitude) will star as Jay Jackson, the first black heavyweight champion of the world, in The Royale, written by Marco Ramirez (Orange is the New Black), directed by Madani Younis (artistic director of the Bush Theatre), and loosely based on the true story of the boxer Jack Johnson.

Baltimore Shakespeare Factory's 2015 Season to Include AS YOU LIKE IT, 'SHREW' & More

Baltimore Shakespeare Factory (BSF) is excited to announce its 2015 season, opening on March 27 with the first-ever production of The Merchant of Venice spoken in Original Pronunciation (OP). BSF is honored to have the assistance of OP experts David Crystal and his son, British actor and author, Ben Crystal, who will be coming to Baltimore to work directly with the actors. There have only been approximately a dozen full length productions of Shakespeare plays in OP since Romeo and Juliet was performed in 2004 at Shakespeare's Globe in London.
