Kentucky Shakespeare Announces 2017 Season

Kentucky Shakespeare proudly announces their 2016-2017 Season. The company now serves over 84,000 audience members a year through touring education programs, indoor productions, community outreach, and Shakespeare in Central Park. Kentucky Shakespeare is the longest running free Shakespeare Festival in the United States and the most comprehensive touring arts provider in Kentucky.

In 1991 I founded ASHTAR Theatre, the first theatre school for young people in Palestine. It was created at a time when Palestinian youth had lost their dreams, hopes and sight of their horizon. Full Casting Announced for Print Room at The Coronet's THE TEMPEST Starring Kevin McMonagle and Charlotte Brimble

The full cast for Print Room at the Coronet's The Tempest is today announced. Directed by Simon Usher, who garnered critical acclaim for his Hamlet at Belgrade Coventry and his Timon of Athens, Pericles and The Winter's Tale at Leicester Haymarket, this is the first staging of Shakespeare by the Notting Hill Gate venue. Design is by Lee Newby. 

Full Cast Announced for Buckland Theatre's LUV

Today, Buckland Theatre Company has announced casting for LUV, the company's second production at PARK90 at Park Theatre. Directed by Gary Condes, Nick Barber will play Milt, Elsie Bennett will play Ellen and Charles Dorfman will play Harry. Written by Murray Schisgal (best known for co-writing the screenplay for Tootsie), LUV premiered on Broadway in 1964 directed by Mike Nichols and was Tony nominated for Best Play and Best Author. LUV will play at PARK90 from 8 Decemberuntil 7 January with an official press night on 13 December.

CURSED CHILD, THE FLICK, NO MAN'S LAND Lead Evening Standard Theatre Awards Longlist

The Evening Standard Theatre Awards, established in 1955, are presented annually for outstanding achievements in London Theatre, and this year's nominations longlist has just been announced. Sponsored by the Evening Standard newspaper, this year's shortlist will be revealed on October 24, and winners on November 13, 2016.

Flute Theatre and English Touring Theatre's HAMLET to Transfer to Trafalgar Studios

Following performances across Europe, including Gdansk Shakespeare Festival; Mercury Theatre Colchester; Craiova International Festival; Park Theatre, London; four theatres in Spain; Neuss Globe Shakespeare Festival; and Kronborg Castle, Elsinore Hamletscenen, Flute Theatre and English Touring Theatre today announces that their production of Hamlet, adapted by Kelly Hunter, transfers to the Trafalgar Studios for a limited run this December.  As well as adapting, Hunter directs Mark Arends (Hamlet), Finlay Cormack (Laertes), David Fielder (Polonius/ Gravedigger), Tom Mannion (Claudius), Katy Stevens (Gertrude) and Francesca Zoutewelle (Ophelia). The production opens on 8 December, with previews from 6 December, and runs until 31 December.

Teaching Artists from Shakespeare's Globe to Lead Workshops with Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's PROJECT38 Teachers!

A pair of teaching artists from Shakespeare's Globe in London will be visiting the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company on October 22 to facilitate a day of workshops for the CSC artist-educators and the local teachers involved in this year's PROJECT38. PROJECT38 is an educational celebration of the thirty-eight plays in Shakespeare's canon in which each of over forty schools in the greater Cincinnati area explore one of Shakespeare's plays, facilitated by classroom visits from a CSC artist-educator; the project culminates in the spring in a weekend-long arts festival in which students present a series of performances and visual art projects created in response to their assigned play.

English Touring Theatre Announces Casting Update for SILVER LINING

English Touring Theatre today announces a casting update for the world premiere of Sandi Toksvig's new comedy Silver Lining, a co-production with Rose Theatre Kingston. Sheila Reid plays Gloria, with Rachel Davies as Maureen, Keziah Joseph as Hope, Maggie McCarthy as May, Joanna Munro as June and Amanda Walker as St Michael in the production directed by Rebecca Gatward. It opens at Rose Theatre Kingston on 8 February, before touring to Portsmouth, Oxford, Cambridge, Ipswich, Keswick, York and Salford.

Photo Flash: In Rehearsal with Papatango's ORCA

Papatango has just released rehearsal photos of Orca - Matt Grinter's winning entry from a record 1053 submissions to the 8th annual Papatango New Writing Prize. Alice Hamilton directs Aden Gillett, Simon Gregor, Carla Langley, Rona Morison and Ellie Turner in the production opening at Southwark Playhouse on 4 November, with previews from 2 November, running until 26 November. Design is by Frankie Bradshaw, with lighting by Johanna Town and sound by Richard Hammarton.

Tonic Theatre Announces TONIC CELEBRATES

Tonic Theatre today announces the second Tonic Celebrates event, part of a new initiative celebrating the achievements of inspirational women in theatre. On Wednesday 19 October at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, Tonic Theatre's Director Lucy Kerbel will be in conversation with new Artistic Director for Shakespeare's Globe Emma Rice, acclaimed stage, radio and television writer Tanika Gupta, and the UK's leading Fight Directors Rachel Brown-Williams & Ruth Cooper-Brown. Park Theatre Announces Casting for SAVING JASON

Casting has been announced for Park Theatre's new dark comedy Saving Jason, created by the two-time Olivier Award nominated writer of the West End/Broadway hits Glorious! and End of the Rainbow, Peter Quilter. Directed by Steven Dexter, the cast includes Jacques Miche, Tor Clark, Cory Peterson, William Oxborrow, Julie Armstrong and Paddy Navin. Saving Jason will play at Park90, from 2 November until 3 December 2016, with a press night on Monday 7 November, 7pm. 

White Bear Theatre Announces Cast for TUESDAY

Following £1.3m redevelopment, Kennington's White Bear Theatre reopens with Tuesday, Michael Bhim's painfully funny new play about disaffected multi cultural modern Londoners.
