RFK, AMERICAN SLIGO and More Set for New City Stage Company's 2012-13 Season

New City Stage Company has announced its 2012-13 season. New City Stage will be in residence again at the Adrienne Theater, 2030 Sansom Street in center city Philadelphia. The first show, RFK, will be performed on the Second Stage as well has have two days of community outreach performances at the Playground for two days before the presidential election.

Roundabout Theatre Company announced the full cast this July for the new Broadway production of Rupert Holmes' Tony Award-winning musical comedy The Mystery of Edwin Drood. For their tenth anniversary, Contact Contemporary Music is thrilled to be presenting the artists they consider their most important influence, Bang on a Can All-Stars. Sunday, September 2 will be a treat for new music aficionados and newcomers alike with the inimitable double-bill multimedia concert, Ambient - The Music of Brian Eno at The Music Gallery. Previously scheduled at the Panasonic Theatre, The Music Gallery - Toronto's Centre for Creative Music - provides an intimate and acoustically sound space for Bang on a Can All-Stars to perform their groundbreaking arrangement of Brian Eno's classic ambient record, Music for Airports, with film by Frank Scheffer and Contact performing their arrangement of Eno's Discreet Music, with film by New York artist Suzanne Bocanegra.

IAMA Theatre Company Announces Upcoming Season

For the L.A.-based IAMA THEATRE COMPANY's first season under the leadership of Artistic Director Becca Wolff and Managing Director Mira Greene, IAMA brings works by young playwrights Dan LeFranc, Louise Munson and Christian Durso to Los Angeles audiences for the first time. World premieres of Durso's SHINER - named to The Tracking Board's YOUNG AND HUNGRY LIST 2012 - and Munson's DO LIKE THE KIDS DO, mark the maturation of two fresh voices in American theater. LeFranc's 60 MILES TO SILVERLAKE, winner of the 2010 New York Times award for Outstanding Play is an overdue homecoming for this SoCal native and his first L.A. production. With this season, IAMA continues its quest to shift the nerve center of young American theatre to L.A.

The 2011-2012 Bay Street Players Dolly Award winners were announced during the 37th Annual Dolly Award event, "Night of the Stars." The gala evening took place Saturday evening August 18, 2012 at the Historic State Theatre in Eustis. This event featured the opening of the theatre's newly remolded lobby extension.

Original Chicago Cast Set for METAMORPHOSES at Lookingglass Theatre, 9/19-28

Lookingglass Theatre Company will open its 25th Anniversary Season with Metamorphoses, based on the Myths of Ovid, written and directed by Lookingglass Ensemble Member Mary Zimmerman. The show will play September 19 - September 28, 2012. The return of Lookingglass' seminal production, coinciding with the 10th Anniversary of the Broadway run, will open at Lookingglass in the fall of 2012 and will then move to Washington D.C.'s Arena Stage.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that Red Dog Howls, written by Alexander Dinelaris and directed by Ken Rus Schmoll, will begin performances Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at 7pm at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Opening night is scheduled for Monday, September 24 at 7pm.
