New City Stage Company has announced its 2012-13 season. New City Stage will be in residence again at the Adrienne Theater, 2030 Sansom Street in center city Philadelphia. The first show, RFK, will be performed on the Second Stage as well has have two days of community outreach performances at the Playground for two days before the presidential election.

Roundabout Theatre Company announced the full cast this July for the new Broadway production of Rupert Holmes' Tony Award-winning musical comedy The Mystery of Edwin Drood. The show is set to open on November 13, 2012 and will star Stephanie J. Block as Edwin Drood. Meet the whole cast in the video and bios below!

For their tenth anniversary, Contact Contemporary Music is thrilled to be presenting the artists they consider their most important influence, Bang on a Can All-Stars. Sunday, September 2 will be a treat for new music aficionados and newcomers alike with the inimitable double-bill multimedia concert, Ambient - The Music of Brian Eno at The Music Gallery. Previously scheduled at the Panasonic Theatre, The Music Gallery - Toronto's Centre for Creative Music - provides an intimate and acoustically sound space for Bang on a Can All-Stars to perform their groundbreaking arrangement of Brian Eno's classic ambient record, Music for Airports, with film by Frank Scheffer and Contact performing their arrangement of Eno's Discreet Music, with film by New York artist Suzanne Bocanegra.

For the L.A.-based IAMA THEATRE COMPANY's first season under the leadership of Artistic Director Becca Wolff and Managing Director Mira Greene, IAMA brings works by young playwrights Dan LeFranc, Louise Munson and Christian Durso to Los Angeles audiences for the first time. World premieres of Durso's SHINER - named to The Tracking Board's YOUNG AND HUNGRY LIST 2012 - and Munson's DO LIKE THE KIDS DO, mark the maturation of two fresh voices in American theater. LeFranc's 60 MILES TO SILVERLAKE, winner of the 2010 New York Times award for Outstanding Play is an overdue homecoming for this SoCal native and his first L.A. production. With this season, IAMA continues its quest to shift the nerve center of young American theatre to L.A.

The 2011-2012 Bay Street Players Dolly Award winners were announced during the 37th Annual Dolly Award event, "Night of the Stars." The gala evening took place Saturday evening August 18, 2012 at the Historic State Theatre in Eustis. This event featured the opening of the theatre's newly remolded lobby extension.

Tonight, August 17, The Screen Actors' Guild Foundation will feature a two-hour, moderated career Conversations event with Judith Light. The event is et to take place at the NYIT Auditorium on Broadway at 7:00 PM, and will be moderated by BroadwayWorld's own Richard Ridge.

Lookingglass Theatre Company will open its 25th Anniversary Season with Metamorphoses, based on the Myths of Ovid, written and directed by Lookingglass Ensemble Member Mary Zimmerman. The show will play September 19 - September 28, 2012. The return of Lookingglass' seminal production, coinciding with the 10th Anniversary of the Broadway run, will open at Lookingglass in the fall of 2012 and will then move to Washington D.C.'s Arena Stage.

Seventeen-year-old Chelsea native and award-winning playwright Max W. Friedlich will see the World Premiere of his searing drama SleepOver in this year's renowned New York International Fringe Festival. Developed in tandem with New York Theatre Workshopand Stephen Sondheim's Young Playwright's Program, the full-length play dives headlong into the emotional minefield two New York teens face as they explore the boundaries of school pressures, race, class and the challenges of friendship in modern-day New York City.

Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director, and Tristan Wilson, Managing Director, presents a workshop production of the new musical The Black Suits with music and lyrics by Joe Iconis and book by Joe Iconis and Robert Emmett Maddock. The Black Suits is part of Barrington Stage's Musical Theatre Lab, William Finn, Artistic Producer. Directed by John Simpkins, with musical direction by James Sampliner, The Black Suits will run August 16 through September 2 at BSC's St. Germain Stage (formerly Stage 2), located on the upper level of the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center, 36 Linden Street, Pittsfield. New Line Theatre, 'the bad boy of musical theatre,' has secured the rights to three premieres for its 22nd season of alternative, adult musical theatre -- the outrageous emo rock musical BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, running Sept. 27-Oct. 20, 2012; the powerhouse Pulitzer Prize-winning rock opera NEXT TO NORMAL, running Feb. 28-March 23, 2013; and the hilariously dark, adult musical comedy BUKOWSICAL, running May 30-June 22, 2013.

The Bridge Theatre Company presents the American premiere of Canadian playwright Matthew MacKenzie's The Particulars, as part of the 16th annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC. The Particulars marks the third consecutive year at FringeNYC for the Bridge Theatre Company, following last year's production of Nicolas Billon's Greenland, winner of the Fringe Festival Award for Overall Excellence in Playwriting, and 2010's critically acclaimed production of The Swearing Jar, by Kate Hewlett.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival announced today the appointment of Cynthia Rider as its next executive director, succeeding current executive director Paul Nicholson, who retires in December after a 33-year tenure with OSF.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that Red Dog Howls, written by Alexander Dinelaris and directed by Ken Rus Schmoll, will begin performances Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at 7pm at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Opening night is scheduled for Monday, September 24 at 7pm.
