School of Nashville Ballet Expands Class Schedule for Tiny Dancers

The School of Nashville Ballet has expanded its class schedule for its youngest dancers in a new Children's Program to begin Jan. 17, 2012, and has announced new leadership to spearhead the expansion.

Actress Micki Sharpe is getting into the habit, both literally and figuratively, of performing each December at Hedgerow Theatre in a musical comedy from Dan Goggin's Nunsense series. She appeared as the Mother Superior in the original, Nunsense, in 2009 and in Nuncrackers in 2010. This year, she's returning to a character she first played in 1986 in Sister Robert Anne's Cabaret Class, which opens on December 29 and runs through January 15.

42nd Street Moon presents the American premiere of a full production of THREE SISTERS, with music by Jerome Kern, and book/lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. San Francisco audiences first enjoyed this little-known Kern and Hammerstein musical when 42nd Street Moon's Lost Musical Series presented the American premiere in 1995, in a concert format. With the help of a recent National Endowment for the Arts Grant, the company is now able to mount the first full production ever seen in the United States. Low-priced previews begin November 30, and the show opens on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 6 pm at the Eureka Theatre. It runs through December 18.

Ailey II's Waters To Retire; Powell Appointed Artistic Director Designate
