Stage Left Theatre announces Drekfest 2017, which performs on Tuesday, March 28th at 7:30pm at CSz Theatre, 929 W Belmont. Stage Left is proud to again partner with CSz Chicago for DrekFest 2017. CSz team members will be joining Stage Left company members and guest artists in staging the four finalists.
On Friday, January 6th Open Book Theatre Company will present a night of Improvisation. The show will be hosted by Jaclynn Cherry and Sean Paraventi two actors who have worked numerous times with Open Book and are well known throughout Detroit for their work in the improv community, most notably with Comedy Sportz and the Planet Ant. The night will include other special guests and an opportunity for audience participation.

The season opens with The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Music and Lyrics by William Finn, Book by Rachel Sheinkin), a hilarious musical comedy about six young people in the throes of puberty participating in a spelling bee, overseen by adults who barely managed to escape childhood themselves. Performances September 27 - October 20.
Two Muses Theatre, a nonprofit, professional theatre based in West Bloomfield, Michigan, will produce six shows beginning in September with something for everyone: a musical comedy, two holiday shows (one geared for family, one a bit more unconventional), a theatre for the young series, a contemporary comedy and a serio-comedy. Three of the shows have exclusively female casts in fitting with Two Muses Theatre's mission to provide opportunities for female professionals in theater.
