Variety reports that INTO THE WOODS director Rob Marshall will receive the Creative Impact in Directing award at this year's Palm Springs Film Festival's 10 Directors to Watch event on January 4.
Sundance Institute announced today the films selected for the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions and the out-of-competition NEXT <=> section of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, January 22 to February 1 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. The Festival is the centerpiece of the year-round public programs for the Institute, which also hosts 24 residency labs and grants more than $2.5 million to independent artists each year.

Film Independent, the non-profit arts organization that produces the Los Angeles Film Festival and the Spirit Awards, announced the jury and audience award winners for the 2013 Festival at the Awards Brunch, hosted by CHAYA Downtown for the fourth year. The American Film Institute's AFI Fest 2012 has released the films that will be featured in the Young Americans and New Auteurs division at this year's festival. Young Americans features works by up-and-coming U.S. filmmakers, while New Auteurs highlights international first and second-time feature film directors. AFI Fest, 2012, sponsored by Audi, will take place November 1-8 in Hollywood.
STARLET, a film by Sean Baker starring Dree Hemingway and Besedka Johnson, will be released by Music Box Films in New York and Los Angeles on November 9th, 2012.
