This has been a very exciting year for the Long Island theatre community. There was a lot of diversity from classic shows like The Importance Of Being Earnest at the Smithtown Performing Arts Center (SPAC) to more modern shows like Legally Blond at the BayWay Theatre. Some productions may have been stronger than others, but all of them had a lot of heart invested in each of them.

Neil Simon's Tony nominated classic, Sweet Charity, is the quintessential tale of a young woman trying to find love and running into the wrong guys in the process. We've all been there. Now playing through October 28th at the beautiful John W. Engeman Theatre in Northport, Long Island, this production proves that a timely tale never truly gets old.

Charity Hope Valentine, with a shoulder bag and a heart tattooed on her left arm, works as a dancer-for-hire in a Times Square Dance Hall but longs for love.

Center Theatre Group will soon present FOLLIES starring Victoria Clark (replacing Bernadette Peters), Jan Maxwell, Danny Burnstein, and Ron Raines. CATCH ME IF YOU CAN played its final performance today, September 4, 2011 at The Neil Simon Theatre, 250 W. 52nd Street. The musical has played 32 preview and 170 regular performances. The first national tour will launch in the Fall of 2012 at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, RI.

The Broadway Theatre Project (BTP) is proud to have just completed its 21st consecutive phenomenal three week intensive training program developing key aspects of the Performing Arts and teaching critical life skills for extraordinary theatrical young people on the campus of University of South Florida.

The Town Hall, New York City's landmark theatre and concert venue, concluded its acclaimed 5th Annual Summer Broadway Festival with All Singin' All Dancin' on Monday, July 25th. The show as created, written, and hosted by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall. BroadwayWorld was on hand and brings you photo coverage below.

Last month, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN released a new promo video for the show, which featured leading man Aaron Tviet, his female co-stars, and the music of Adele! Now the show has launched a video contest that gives fans the opportunity to win tickets to the show! To enter, sinply use the footage of Tveit and his lovely ladies and pair it with a song of your choosing. Then post your video creation to Youtube and post it on the show's Facebook page.

Cast members from CATCH ME IF YOU CAN including Aaron Tveit, Norbert Leo Butz, Tom Wopat, and Kerry Butler will make an appearance at the Upper East Side Barnes and Noble for a performance and CD signing on June 28. The events will begin at 4:00pm on the event stage (86th/Lex).
