Manhattan Theatre Club has just announced complete casting for the upcoming world premiere production of THE COMMONS OF PENSACOLA, the new play by Amanda Peet, directed by MTC's award-winning artistic director Lynne Meadow.

On the heels of its successful first season in 2012/13, the Broadway @ NOCCA concert series has already updated the lineup for its second season. Bellarine Theatre Company continues their tradition of bringing some of the area's top young talent to the stage with Footloose, the onstage musical adaption of the hit 1984 movie. The film starred Kevin Bacon in a breakout performance as Ren McCormack and John Lithgow as Reverend Shaw Moore. It also featured Sarah Jessica Parker, Chris Penn, and Dianne Wiest. The film was a hit at the box office and resulted in a remake in 2011. The musical version of Footloose debuted on Broadway in 1998.

The last few years have brought difficult financial times to a number of venerable Atlanta theatres, including the 2012 closing of Marietta's Theatre in the Square, a successful half-million dollar fundraising campaign by Georgia Shakespeare in 2011, and last week, one of Atlana's oldest theatrical institutions announced a desperate plea for public support. After over six decades in Atlanta, Theater of the Stars (TOTS) now needs to raise $500,000 by the end of next week, and another half-million dollars by the end of August, to continue operations.
The world premiere of David Grimm's TALES FROM RED VIENNA has been added to Manhattan Theatre Club's 2013-2014 theatrical season, it was announced today by Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director), Barry Grove (Executive Producer), and Mandy Greenfield (Artistic Producer). Kate Whoriskey (Ruined at MTC) will direct the production, set to begin previews on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 with an official opening night scheduled for Tuesday, March 18 at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).

New York City Ballet's annual Fall Gala will celebrate dance and fashion with three world premiere ballets, and costumes designed by some of the fashion world's most exciting talents. The one-time-only gala evening will take place on Thursday, September 19, 2013, and this year's participants include choreographers Benjamin Millepied, in collaboration with the Dutch designer Iris van Herpen; Justin Peck, who will create a new ballet featuring costumes by the acclaimed New York-based fashion designer Prabal Gurung; and Angelin Preljocaj, who will work with Olivier Theyskens, the Belgian-born designer who is the Artistic Director of the American fashion house Theory.
