Following on from his success with Daytona at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket, Oliver Cotton, has written a new play for our time, Dessert.

The world's leading theatrical publishing and licensing company, Samuel French, announced today that Ken Ludwig, Dominique Morisseau, and the writing team of Chris Miller & Nathan Tysen will be honored at the second annual Samuel French Awards. 

Academy Award nominee Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight) and Hugo Weaving (The Matrix trilogy) have joined the cast of PATRICK MELROSE, a new SHOWTIME and Sky Atlantic limited series starring and executive produced by Oscar nominee and Emmy(R) winner Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game, Sherlock).

Three members of one real-life family - father, son and wife - bring Hamlet's incestuous confusion of family life sharply into focus in a brand new production at Park Theatre. Starring Gyles Brandreth, Benet Brandreth and Kosha Engler, this take on Shakespeare's epic drama fixes the spotlight on the myriad ways families make and un-make themselves. The production runs 22 August - 16 September, with an official press night on Wednesday 30 August.

Chester Theatre Company (CTC) is proud to present Dominique Morisseau's Skeleton Crew in the historic Chester Town Hall, 15 Middlefield Road in Chester, MA, from July 13 - 23, 2017. The production is directed by Awoye Timpo, making her CTC directorial debut. In this 'deeply moral and deeply American play' (The New York Times), Reggie has worked his way up to supervisor at a faltering auto factory. Now he has to decide whether he owes his loyalty to himself, to his bosses, or to long-time family friend Faye and the younger workers on the line, Dez and Shanita. In the spirit of August Wilson's Pittsburgh Cycle, this third play from Morisseau's Detroit Trilogy explores the hard choices facing Americans barely squeezing by. It was named by the New York Times as 'one of six plays that reckon with an anxious America.'

Simon Godwin's (Associate Director, London's National Theatre) acclaimed staging of Measure for Measure, William Shakespeare's dark comedy about justice, faith, power, sex and family, will close as scheduled next week, on July 16. Just 15 New York performances remain of the production.

Mark Everett (65) will leave the theatre at the end of October and admitted it will be a 'wrench', but added: 'I believe my timing is right as with the many exciting developments facing The Marlowe, there is an excellent opportunity for someone new to take it into the next phase of its history.'

The world premiere of a brand-new, one-man musical will be the first musical to be performed in Southwark Playhouse's Little space.

After nearly 20 years leading the internationally focused Lincoln Center Festival, Director Nigel Redden announced today that the 2017 Festival will be his last. He will step down in September to concentrate on the artistic expansion of the annual Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, South Carolina, where he serves as general director, as well as other global artistic projects.
