UK Theatres Release Joint Statement on 'Abuse of Power' in the Industry

Stephen Leask to Lead SCHOOL OF ROCK in the West End; New Adult Cast Announced

Today, 23 October 2017, rehearsals begin for the new West End cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Olivier award-winning production of School of Rock - The Musical. Stephen Leask, having played the role of alternate Dewey since May this year, will now lead the cast as Dewey Finn from 15 November 2017.

Jessica Stone's BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, Kathleen Marshall-Helmed 'MUCH ADO' and More Set for The Old Globe's 2018 Summer Season

The Old Globe today announced the additional productions in its 2018 Summer Season, including the classic Neil Simon comedy Barefoot in the Park directed by Jessica Stone (Ken Ludwig's Robin Hood!, Arms and the Man, and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike at the Globe), which will run July 28 - August 26, 2018. The Summer Shakespeare Festival lineup will include The Tempest, running June 17 - July 22, 2018, and Much Ado About Nothing, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall (the Globe's Love's Labor's Lost), running August 12 - September 16.

Yale Rep to Present Nambi E. Kelley's Stage Adaptation of NATIVE SON

Yale Repertory Theatre presents NATIVE SON, the critically acclaimed new play by Nambi E. Kelley adapted from the iconic American novel by Richard Wright, directed by Seret Scott, November 24 December 16 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). Opening Night is Thursday, November 30.

Official: Meera Syal Joins West End Cast of ANNIE As 'Miss Hannigan'

Today, Michael Harrison and David Ian, producers of the West End production of Annie, have officially announced that from 27 November 2017, Meera Syal will join the Company to play the role of Miss Hannigan for the duration of the run which concludes, as previously announced, on 18 February 2018 at the Piccadilly Theatre.

Berkeley Rep Presents Hellman's WATCH ON THE RHINE

Berkeley Repertory Theatre presents Watch on the Rhine, Lillian Hellman's 1940s political thriller about loyalty, family, and sacrifice. The play, directed by Berkeley Rep's associate director Lisa Peterson, begins previews on Thursday, November 30, 2017 and runs through Sunday, January 14, 2018. Individual tickets begin at $30 and can be purchased online at berkeleyrep.org or by phone at 510 647-2949. Press night will be on Monday, December 4.

Tim Minchin's MATILDA-Based Children's Book Will Get March 2018 Release

Scholastic recently announced plans for a new magical picture book inspired by Tim Minchin's hit song 'When I Grow Up' from the acclaimed award-winning show MATILDA THE MUSICAL. The book will be illustrated by internationally published award-winning author and illustrator Steve Antony. The project will imagine life from a child's viewpoint, with all the humor and poignancy of the song. Now Minchin has revealed that the book will hit shelves next year!

Exclusive Pre-Release screening of MACBETH Set for Notre Dame October 24th

Shakespeare at Notre Dame announces the first United States screening of Kit Monkman's film Macbeth, a bold new interpretation of the classic tragedy filmed entirely on green screens. Macbeth will screen at 8pm on Tuesday, October 24th at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center at the University of Notre Dame. A Q&A with the film's co-writer and Shakespeare advisor, Judith Buchanan, will follow.
