The Antaeus Company, L.A.'s Classical Theater Ensemble, hits a milestone in company history: For the first time since the inception of the company in 1994, The Antaeus Company is proud to announce their first full season of classic plays!

The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that A STEADY RAIN scribe, Keith Huff has sold the film rights to James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. WIlson, who are also among the producers of the play.

The Open Fist Theatre Company presents their First Ever, FIRST LOOK FESTIVAL OF NEW PLAYS, with new works written by Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig, Steven Haworth, Karen Hartman, Julie Hebert, Neil LaBute, Rick Pagano and directed by Bjorn Johnson, Neil LaBute, Marya Mazor, Charles Otte and Randee Trabitz. The Festival will begin on Thursday, July 23 and run through Sunday, September 13 at The NEW Open Fist Theatre, 6209 Santa Monica Blvd. (former home of The Actor's Gang) in Hollywood.

Actress/singer/songwriter Alicia Witt returns to Joe's Pub on Friday, July 17, 2009, 11:30 PM to celebrate the release of her new self-titled EP! Witt will be singing and playing a set of her original songs with full band.

Variety is reporting that A STEADY RAIN starring Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman is already looking like a winner. The trade paper reports that industry insiders are 'buzzing' about the whopping $3 million in advance sales solely from the initial pre-sale offer for American Express cardholders. Tickets for the general public are not available until July 25th. The Amex pre-sale launched Saturday.

New York's OBIE Award-winning Epic TheatreEnsemble (Zak Berkman, Melissa Friedman, Ron Russell, Founding Executive Directors) has announced its 9 th Anniversary Season of new works: the world premiere of Mahida's Extra Key To Heaven by Russell Davis, and the New York Premiere of Passion Play by Sarah Ruhl. Also scheduled is Shakespeare Remix MacBeth a collaboration with Epic's unrivaled After School Shakespeare Program at Chelsea High School.

Executive Producer Louis G. Spisto today announced the appointment of Adrian Noble as Artistic Director of The Old Globe's 2010 Shakespeare Festival celebrating the theater's 75th anniversary season. One of the theater's most respected and sought-after directors, Noble will oversee the Festival and direct two of the three productions presented in repertory. Noble succeeds Resident Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak who will leave his post in September to pursue independent directing opportunities. The annual festival will run from June 12 through September 26, 2010.

Main Street Theater will open its 2009-2010 MainStage season with the English-language premiere of a new adaptation of Isabel Allende's best-selling novel, The House of the Spirits, on September 10, 2009 and running through October 11.

16th Street Theater, a part of the North Berwyn Park District, is proud to announce its production of the remount of Brett Neveu's The Last Barbecue directed by Artistic Director Ann Filmer. The Last Barbecue will run July 9 - August 8, 2009 at the Berwyn Cultural Center, with a press opening of Saturday July 11 at 5:00 PM.

For the Almeida Theatre's 2009 Summer Festival (8 July - 1 August 2009) the Yorkshire based Slung Low, The TEAM (Theater of the Emerging American Moment) from New York, GULP and Tiata Fahodzi have been invited to collaborate with the Almeida at its home base in Islington and the surrounding area. In addition, the Festival will present a concert by Heather Christian, an Installation by Lu Kemp and a concert celebrating African music presented by Tiata Fahodzi. Paris' Théâtre du Châtelet has announced via their website that Kristin Scott Thomas will play Desiree Armfeldt and Leslie Caron will play Madame Armfeldt in Jonathan Stockhammer's upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's A Little Night Music.

Eight productions have been announced for the eagerly anticipated 2009 Summer Play Festival (SPF). For its upcoming season, SPF will again be presented at The Public Theater. SPF 2009 will run from July 7 to August 2 and, as in years past, is expected to serve as a highlight of the summer theatre season by showcasing a line-up of new talent.

Rehearsals start today, Thursday, July 2, for Slipping, written by Daniel Talbott and directed by Kirsten Kelly. Presented by Piece by Piece Productions and Rising Phoenix Repertory in association with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, Slipping begins performances for its New York premiere Tuesday, July 28 at 8pm at the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place. The opening night is set for Tuesday, August 4 at 7pm.
