Tony Winner Paul Tazewell Is Commencement Speaker At The University Of North Carolina School Of The Arts

Costume designer Paul Tazewell, winner of a Tony Award and an Emmy Award, is Commencement Speaker at his alma mater, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The ceremony will take place at UNCSA's Stevens Center Stevens Center at 405 West Fourth St. in downtown Winston-Salem. It will be streamed live on the school's website.

The first show in the inaugural season of 25A, Belvoir's new low-cost independent theatre initiative, is new Australian play Greater Sunrise. The play tackles the real-life spy scandal that has tarnished Australia's international reputation and is also the first produced full-length play by Zoe Hogan. Directed by Julia Patey (ATYP Rose Byrne Female Arts Leader Scholarship), the fantastic cast includes Timorese actor and activist Jose Da Costa (Balibo).

Sedos presents a revival of the award-winning 1930s comedy You Can't Take it With You at the Bridewell Theatre, off Fleet Street, from 10 - 14 April 2018. Written by popular comedy writing duo, Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, the play won the 1937 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and was then adapted for the screen, winning the 1938 Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director. The play had a Tony award-winning revival on Broadway in 2014 starring James Earl Jones and Rose Byrne.
